PRIYANKA CHOPRA AND VIRGIN COMICS
TO LAUNCH NEW SUPERHERO
Virgin Comics to create a new superhero character for comics, live-action films, animation and games with superstar Bollywood actress & former Miss World
Mumbai, India —October 30, 2007— Bollywood actress and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra announced today that she is teaming up with Virgin Comics to create a new superhero character for comic books, animation and games.
The new content relationship makes Ms. Chopra the first Miss World winner to create a superhero property. The partnership also teams Chopra with leading media company Virgin Comics, which was founded by Sir Richard Branson, author Deepak Chopra, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and entrepreneurs Sharad Devarajan, Gotham Chopra and Suresh Seetharaman.
Priyanka Chopra commented on the venture by saying, "I love cartoons and animation, so being able to create my own original superhero with the Virgin’s amazing talents of artists and storytellers is a dream come true that I hope will capture the imagination of a new generation of Indian youth."

The new story which is still being developed and currently untitled, deals with an adopted girl who discovers she has a far greater role to play as she is the latest in a line of princesses with great mystical power and a sworn duty to take down evil wherever it lurks. The story is expected to launch first as a comic book series in 2008. Virgin plans on aggressively working with Ms. Chopra to develop the story across numerous platforms including animation games and theatrical live-action film.
