If you can begin with telling us, what NSM is all about?
National Student's Meet is an inventiveness of MAAC to congregate the entire national students studying 3D Animation & VFX and take them for a one week of national tour where they are exposed to high-end seminars , workshops and case studies of Indian & International projects. The tour also includes studio visit module for students to understand their production mechanism and work culture of studios. This year it’s going to be the 7th Annual National Students Meet in Jan 2010.
What is the whole objective behind creating an event like NSM?
The aim is to educate the student's community about animation and vfx industry as a whole, how the working methodology and quality of output of projects are changing year on year. How Indian Animation and VFX industry is reaching to next level and gradually making its important position in international market. All this happens through intense discussion of case studies, makings and workshops on feature films, games, ads, TV series, TVC, Simulation and various specialized sessions on VFX, Animation, Lighting and many more. There is also a session of Panel Discussion where are the leading studios have their top representatives to guide students on the changing standards of industry and their expectations from young artists of the future from the recruitments point of view.
What is the line-up of speakers in NSM this year?
As of today we have Dreamworks, Prana, Prime Focus, Eye Qube, Rhythm & Hues and Vaibhav Studios on the confirmation list. We are in discussion with more international studios which would be declared shortly.
What are new features that NSM has added to its cap this time?
Visual Effects is emerging as a fastest growing segment in India and we have in place lot of interesting case studies based on it to be presented by reputed studios. Outbound Trainings and Live contests will also be of great interest for the students.
What kind of footfalls are you expecting this time in terms of crowd expectations?
Since this event is of platinum class we always open limited seats for NSM. For this year we are expecting approx 350+ students.

MAAC as an organization have always been proud of its entire current student’s community and the 30 thousand alumni members as well. From the development perspectives of students we at MAAC are always in continues process to bring unique learning opportunities for students through various platforms like NSM, 24FPS and SRIJAN. With the beginning of year 2010 we have our best wishes to all the students across for a successful career ahead and would like students to enjoy the pride of being the alumni of the best education academy of the country - MAAC.
