problems with GI and GR lights!

hi everybody.

i am new to maya lights, i have rendered a
scene...it yet from completion. but i am having some problem with the
GI and GR in the scene and I would really appreciate anything from the
community.
hoping my prayers would be answered.

the problems are:
1. i am getting way too much bounced light accumulated at corners where the objects are close to a 2nd object.
2. over all blotching all over the scene.
