UV Mapping Organic Forms 1 by SUVA
This is a tutorial demonstrating how to begin creating a UV layout for creature model. Many of the methods outlined in this tutorial work for any type of rounded forms.
UV Mapping Organic Forms 2
This is a tutorial demonstrating how to begin creating a UV layout for a creature model. After making a basing projection we begin using edge selection to separate the UV layout into multiple shells.
Many of the methods outlined in this tutorial will work for any type of rounded forms.
UV Mapping Organic Forms 3
This is a tutorial demonstrating how to begin creating a UV layout for creature model. After separating one arm into multiple shells, we unfold individual shells before sewing them back together in order to get an even and predictable distribution of the UV space.
Many of the methods outlined in this tutorial will work for any type of rounded forms.
UV Mapping Organic Forms 4
This is a tutorial demonstrating how to begin creating a UV layout for creature model. After cutting and unfolding individual shells we demonstrate sewing them back together in order to get an even and predictable distribution of the UV space with a minimum of visible texture seams. This process concludes with arranging the shells into a final layout before normalizing the UVs into the 0-1 (or positive) UV space.
Many of the methods outlined in this tutorial will work for any type of rounded forms.
