PARAMPARA 2010 Organised by MAAC PREET VIHAR & ANAND VIHAR
MAAC Preet Vihar & Anand Vihar, celebrated their annual function parampara on 15th April 2010 at FICCI Auditorium. On this occasion, the students were also awarded for their exceptional movies. It was a fun filled evening, studded with live performances by MAAC Students and renowned artists.

The evening started with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by an opening speech by Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, Director of department of Journalism and new media studies, IGNOU as the chief guest of honour.
As the program proceeded, there were concept dances and solo songs performances by the students.
After that there was a special performance by Shefali Jhariwala of Kanta Laga fame. The excitement had build up by then and the students stood from their seats and matched her step for step. But the main attraction of the event were the laughter challenge stars Kapil Sharma and Pratap Faujdar. Their instant jokes were a hit among the audience who embraced their humor and wit wholeheartedly and gave them a standing applause.

Media Delegates from various reputed channels and newspapers like IBN 7, CNEB, P-7 Channel, Delhi Times, Delhi Jagran, Amar Ujala were also present at the function to cover this event.
In between, short films made by MAAC Preet Vihar and Anand Vihar Students were also showcased. For this event, students worked night and day to finish their movies on time and came out with some quality work in 3D animation and vfx.
And finally the much awaited moment came. It was time for awarding the students for their hard work and patience. The best 3D Short Film award was won by the movie named “The Anda”. The award for best documentary movie went to the film “ Zyka”. In the vfx category the best film award was won by the movie ‘G-Force’. As the names of the winners were announced, the students came hurling towards the stage among cheers and applause.
The jury members consisted of prominent members from the industry like Mr. Ajay Kumar Pillai vfx supervisor of hollywood movies like Disney’s ‘Tinkle bell’. Rohiteshwar Sahay, motion Graphics expert from Zee News and Mr Pradeep Sawant, Director Academics, North Zone (MAAC).
On this occasion Mr Ajay Kumar Pillai said ‘Seeing so many talented students here today, we would definitely like to hire from among this breed of fresh animators. They have made their movies under time constraint and that is exactly how you work in a professional environment, following strict deadlines.
This function saw some young talents in MAAC being recognized and awarded in the field of animation and VFX. This motivated hundreds of students attending the function to take this career seriously and inspired them not only to learn animation, but to achieve excellence in this field.

Mr Rahul Abrol, Director MAAC Preet Vihar & Anand Vihar said ‘ MAAC, is well known for the quality of education that it imparts. However, students always need some kind of motivation to carry on. Hence we organize such events and competitions from time to time, to induce a healthy spirit of competition among the students.’
Overall it was an evening filled with fun, entertainment and enthusiasm.
