Thank U all............wish u the same..
I have done the ABCD ...that is placed the joints........wanted to put the 1st WIP yesterday...but had no internet connection.........couldn't upload from the office...so will have to wait till tonight...
I am a bit confused wether to rig the arm for realistic look and feel.....or to go for cartoony rig..as the arm looks more realistic...actually it is Thakurians Haath..(Female Hand)....need to change the title..hehe
It would be interesting to know how the rest of our participants r approaching it.
Cheers

Alright....Here comes the first WIP from me....
Just the placements of the joints as of now.........
I will try to achieve certain things through these contest some of the most complicated things OR A CHALLENGING thing to achieve in the ARM rig which i have marked as the red target...... THE AUTO CLAVICAL ..THE NON FLIPPY ARM TWISTS and also THE FINGERS AND THE THUMB
Hope to succeed though...or will try to come close enough if not achieve it...after all itz the challenge that makes you work hard
Cheers

Default Wip-2

All Right..here comes the another WIP..these time thinking about a solution for arm twist...There r couple of tech which people use these days...1. The Aarm twist by using ADVANCED TWIST OF SPLINE IK...and the other one 2. THE RIBBON SETUP...Since we r in a contest..and we r in hunt of alternative solution.....I have tried another setup with the help of curves......Lets see how far it can take the twist..its looking good as of now..........would like to see what u feel about it........
Attached below is the jpg ..and a small video of its behavior.......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck-ncwdDqas
Time to go for sleep and tmmorow will see its behavior after skinning it..Till then
Cheers

hey jj this is nice idea but as i know, human anatomy doesn't have any two joins at wrist area..so you might get some deformation issue from particular wrist part.. and for radius and ulna joints it is nice idea but same as my joint need to check out practically while skinning.

No jatin...its just to control the curve..they not going to be the part of the skinning..........curves r skinned to these joints...and wen the wrist joint rotates...these joints rotate from that pivot of wrist joint..finally rotating the curve........
Cheers

nice technique jignesh..
I was thinking of an alternative setup for the twist myself.
This looks like its off in the right direction.
Waiting for more updates.
