thanx prakash.. well.. keep workin.. u'll get your signature style,, and keep lookin at everything ... other artists works.. lots of them,.. they'll get stuck in your head.. and then u'll slowly evolve your own style.. get influenced by their work.. unconsciously .. then try to break away.. lol ..
herez a pretty old work ,, oil on paper

hi..
hey.. san.. i loved this work of your.. the look is really simple.. and it gives a dreamy-in though effect... the mood is lovely... when i squint m eyes and look at the image it just comes out!.. the glass is also good.. i loved the strokes also .. Almost feels like the image is telling me a story.
hotsparx-.. nice work.. what kasana said was right.. the cloth does kinda have that paper feel to it.. it almost feels like is one of those greek statues.. At two three specific parts it looks like you have lost volume... like the part where the main character is standing on.. maybe if you just worked on the contrast there.. it would look good.. give the feet a lil shadow. but its really well rendered.

Thnx for the comments KAS n WJ.. really appreciate it.. well the workshop was called masters copy.. which means that we were given a few pics of some original artwork which we had to replicate in any material of our choice.. the one I chose was a statue called "Neptune calming the waves" it was made in the 17th century carved out of marble.. so mayb thts wht lead to the stiff cloth.. but yes i get it .. thr r sum errors.. well it really gets very difficult to point out mistakes in ur own artwork cause u r so used to luking it everytime.. lol.. i guess u guys know wht im talkin bout

Nice work Artkantu. love the mood n nice worked with tones.
but ear is not blending with whole.
And as character construction I feel something wrong. As head is big and chin is small so this design seems childish to me. But as main feature n the color treatment is something like devilish.
its my perception. So I thought of telling you. but if you want this way then its really good........

i have a prob with my account.. if i am inactve for a while, i get logged out . and the admin will not fix it, coz i am too arrogant and i cant speak nicely .. i had written a long comment and i cant remember what i wrote,, anyways .. i'll try and write it again..
nice work hotsparx.. me doin good.. the outline makes it a little wierd.. the hands looks big ,,
and kantu,, ncie alien man;; love the textures and the soft tones..
and thanx for the comments guys.. i like the way this one came out.. esp the glass... i surprised myself . coz i cant believe i did it without ref .. most of my work is without,, but i did not think i could do a backlit galss..

master study ..
completely in love with dry pastels .. on handmade paper..
Started out as Rembrandt's self protrait.. ended up lookin like van gogh's portrait of picasso
i just loved the process..

hi
san.. that is amazing..
i feel a little stupid posting this after what you have done.. but none the less... here goes..
ive been trying my best to sketch between the breaks i get while learning 3D. Its an incomplete work.. but i'd post it. i was trying to do individual study of the eye and the nose.. didnt turn out quite as well.

thanx a lot guys/
jackal : nice work man.. it;s real great that u take a break from 3D.. i need to do it too .. but i am hardly workin in 3D these days .. nice study.. the nose and lips are great.. the eye needs more study.. hmm.. the eye is a sphere and the lids are over it.. get more thickness for the lids and the curvature of the eye will be a little more extreme.. i like the way u have left the highlights on the nose..
keep workin.. enzoi
harsh: lol.. no it;s not my dad... it was supposed to b Rembrandt .. it;s lookin like Picasso .. thanx
Ratheesh : thanx man,,. i saw your work in the animation mag.. congrats man.. the flower one(vector)..

here are some works that i did a while ago.. finally digitalized them.. so tot i'll post.. all are tiny.. i think about 6"x4.5" ..

could not draw the head coz he kept moving .
saw this scene from the bus.. a girl sittin in the bottom half of a petty shop.. i'll paint this someday.. she was wearin a blue scarf.. and all around her was brown (rust) and dust .. for the first time i remembered to draw what i had seen.. and it came out decent..
