@harpeet: I read through the forum rules again now for a few more times.. It says "Clay Renders" so alas I think we can't use colors.. Hence I will go for the regular grey renders for the final submission.
nice update , but dude you have used readymade basemesh ?? thats not fair ..we also could use downloaded meshes ....this is challenge you cant use it ... whatever i dint expected this from you .
about the concept its pretty nice dude but killing someone dont you think its very normal to show his badness ? keep going !
@ Senior : Yeah dude. I have used a base mesh provided with mudbox software..I didnt saw in the rules if we cant use a basemesh.. if such a thing exists, I have no qualms of being disqualified from the contest. About the ripping of the guy.. its something I did to show his evil side.. coz normally we dont see hulk ripping off ppl.
@Assasin: strictly speaking, there wasnt a rule against reusing basemeshes. This is a modeling/sculpting challenge and Ankit did "sculpt" this from scratch for this challenge.
modeling a basemesh from scratch everytime for every new work is something that I personally dont do either. I reuse an old basemesh for every new work simply because I find no "challenge" in "modeling a basemesh" . The challenge is in bringing out the character through the sculpt. And pretty much every other forum which conducts these kinda challenges allow reusing existing basemeshes [some forums even provide you with a basemesh].If everything was supposed to be created from scratch,it would be usually mentioned clearly in the Rules thread on these forums. So there is nothing "unfair" about
reusing a basemesh which an artist could create in less than an hour in the context of a challenge that lasts an entire month.
Having said all this, Abhishek will clarify this concern of yours.
@sriram : man reusing basemesh is other thing which i mentioned ..... ankit understood very well what i said ..... reuse your own basemesh is fine but this is about readymade meshes ... which is not right .
well i dont have any problem with this but i was telling the right thing .... cool guys ... leave it and enjoy the challenge
there is no difference since the artist has the ability to create the basemesh he had re-used and he did sculpt his entry from scratch.
As I mentioned, Abhishek will have the final word.
hmm i wasnt aware of this basemesh rule.. even i used an existing basemesh and altered it .. but i guess thats normal practice with sculpting work ? . Imho a lot of work goes into sculpting ...so the final product doesnt even resemble any of the base mesh...
Anyways .. its coming out really well.. maybe have a nice pedestal.. not so sure about the plane you have put.keep going man .
