Hey guys, I've been doing a bunch of behind the scenes podcasts for my short film "Pigeon: Impossible." I'm trying to keep them focused on techniques so it shouldn't matter what 3D software package you use. Let me know if you have any ideas for upcoming episodes!

Podcast #10 is online and goes through a pretty standard way to set up IK-FK blending. It also shows some handy tricks for tweaking and optimizing it.

had a small request?why not come with some more on lighting,like production lighting tigs and something on matching Cg lighting with Clean plate..

Thanks cgimage. I actually don't have anything else on lighting. The short is all CG so there's no clean plates to match to. I might do a podcast or 2 on VFX, but I have to find and clear some of the VFX shots I've done first. As for the production lighting rigs, I didn't go into them because almost all of my passes have a single light so I wouldn't even call it a "lighting rig." A couple of them have one fill light, but that's it. The whole look of the shots is created through compositing rather than lighting. Sorry to disappoint but I hope that helps.

the clip looks awesome.
cud u pls do some podcasts on animating the scenes and developing the story. i know uve done one the story, but one on the thought process and what goes into getting those thoughts ready for animation.

Sure thing! I've got a ton of episodes planned on story and the animatic process. In the meantime Podcast #011 is up and talks about how we handled the cloth simulations (or lack thereof).
