NOMINATIONS FOR KOL.KATHA’09 RELEASED:

Kolkata, 21 February: The nominations for the Kol.Katha’09 animation film festival to be held on the 26th of February, 2009, were released on the 21st of February, 2009.

The esteemed Jury Members for the Pre- Screening Stage were:

Mr. Prakash Moorthy: Mr. Prakash Moorthy is at present working as the Head of Animation, Miditech. Some of his achievements include the Award for Best Art Direction at the Dubai Film Festival for the film “Vanaprastham” in 2000 directed by Shaji N. Karun.
At Miditech, he has been involved in prestigious projects like Galli Galii Sim Sim - Sesame Street as Head of Animation.

Prosenjit Ganguly: Designer, Director, stop-motion animator and educator, Prosenjit Ganguly's short films have received 3 international awards and have been screened in over 20 countries. He has also served on the faculty of the National Institute of Design. Having worked as Director, Special Projects at Toonz Animation India, he is currently working as an Independent Animation Designer. He also makes time to teach specialized Courses in Visual Communication and conduct animation and creativity workshops for children.

Yunus Bukhari: The Chief of Artery Animation & FX, Mr. Yunus Bukhari is a well known name in the Animation & VFX Industry and is considered India’s best VFX producer. Yunus Bukhari has executed Visual effects for many Films, Commercials & Television Productions. He has been associated with high profile Bollywood projects as well as Television series such as Koi Mil Gaya, Devdas, Rakt, Khel, Josh & Saara Aakash.

Mr. Arijit Dutta: Managing Director, Priya Entertainment, he operated at the Eastern India Motion Pictures Association as its youngest president. Of late, he has also ventured into acting and done films with directors like Gautam Ghosh, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Raja Sen, Rituparno Ghosh and Anjan Dutt.
