Default An Explosion WIP-Critiques needed!

Hello Everyone,

This is a low-res WIP of an Explosion Done with Maya Fluids (Maya 2010).
I just realized that Maya 2011 has nice features for shading fluids, so I am considering to re-render the explosion on the other machine which is far much better than the one I used to create this. However, the only problem is I am rendering some fluids on the other one for past 2 months , so I thought of getting some critics and suggestions about how am I going so far.

Sure,I'll update it within few days.
I haven't completed it yet, will post a detail description about my workflow and my findings on my blog.

Thanks for appreciation!

I finished the shot you can watch it here:
http://www.cgtantra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32682

One more thing I would like to tell you is I went through the same issue you were facing with this post :
http://www.cgtantra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32528

I read about a way of rendering out the exact animation for particles somewhere, without getting any simulation artifacts.
Although, it's a workaround and constraints one to render out animation in Passes. One can check the "Preview Animation" check-box under Options tab ,inside the Render Settings while Mental Ray selected as your Shading Engine. This will like playblast, render out whatever is there in the viewport while spitting out all shaders in the scene, one can check render output in the "Current_Project_Directory/temp/".

I will look in to this issue more thoroughly later, I hope this helps for now.

Thanks,
Shashi Kant
