used max for base mesh and cloth , zbrush and mudbox and PS for texture and details , vray for max to render the image , post production in PS

well to get you started I would recommend eat3d zbrush DVds and lots of practice

wow gr8 wrk dude ...i wud hav been niceer if d monk had a calm smile in his face
and the beads...do something abt that beads, add some texture or make it unevenly placed and a back light
