& how to go other filed
i m also struggling last years

i dont kw ...
i told him i worked without paying ....
wn i made professional that time u will pay me ...!!!!
i m fresher (fresher or animators life is hell )
thanx a lot u sharing ur exp.!!!!!
Yaps , There are problems & this problems are because of short tum goals.
Please understand this things..
most of the big studio stated with outsourcing work , they still do same thing or want to do only outsourcing only, not original work.. so they are not able to create local market for animation.
Please try to understand IT(software) or BPO industry they do outsource work but they were able to create domestic market. first we need that.
They started giving high salary because there were less artist before 10 years & all bull shit institutes in india adapt it in their marketing. India need 20000 animators & you will get 35,000 per month 50,000 per month.
It happens with every new industry when demand is more.it happened with IT & BPO but they were able to create their domestic market.. & still gives good salary.
first we need to create our domestic market. we need good training centers, which could help artist to match international quality then we can sell our products, otherwise we have to be happy with low budget films & low salary.
Please understand IIT mechanical engineer starts with 50,000 per month & ordinary mechanical engineer start with 8,000 per month.
again my question is why everyone want to start with animation movie??
Aren't there any other use of animation?? web animation, presentation, walkthrough animation, product designing, interactive entertainment why don't we try something else??
ketane Kutte Aekhi roti khaye ge??
why job?? why don't you start your own thing ?? find friends... write story , start making animation... I hope most of you have computer & internet . one's you are done with your pilot episode look for VC !! pitch your idea..
that's what most of the new film makers & entertainer do. & even the same company where you want to apply..
most of the company in the world started like that..
I don't want to say more , but I am very happy with animation & games.
I agree with 3datri a little, here are a few points we should consider in Indian Animation.
1. Hero/Heroine based film industry:- Accept it, most of the Bollywood films we see are more of hero/heroine oriented than story. Films like Wednesday which backed pretty good/believable story didn't do as well as any flop movie from a big hero would have done. Most people are drawn to theaters for heroes/heroines and not for the story. This is one of the biggest factors I believe that has not allowed Indian Animation to develop.
2. Animation is only for Kids(Yea Right):- This is how Animation is viewed by most of the people, I mean yea up to some extent it is BUT there are big exceptions like Transformers,Harry Potter(Teens are not Kids right ). All Indian animation films have been for kids. No specific Teen or Adult movie.
3. Exposure to Hollywood:- Most middle-class kids are exposed to Hollywood Films(Animated ones included) so technically they're not only exposed to Films but to a certain Standard or Quality, So if the Indian Animation has to grow then it will have to raise the standards bar above Hollywood or at the least same as Hollywood. Then only people will consider the local Animation on a broad scale.
I guess these are primary causes of under-developed Animation in India.
Guys I agree with you. Being a Trainer, I have seen many times wrong Advertising campaigns ultimately aiming to grab students, But you all must know Walt Disney Studio, Dreamwork Pictures are sponsoring as well as collaborating with Indian Animation Studios, which means Talent is needed in This Animation Field, one can create a good carrier in this field, only thing is to take greater efforts to learn techniques without depending on any courses, and where there is will he will definitely find a way to reach his goal. Also, these days we have those forums, to discuss wherever we get trapped.. n we have a wide range of video Tutorials to get a specialization. Right ??

Guys !!
Its not the reality..
If u have power to prove yourself then things will work out fine for you.
I suggest utilize the time instead of falling in these kind of shit..
Make ur demoreel at ur best and defiantly you will get whatever you want !! Yes its true that the initial days will be tough but as time passes by u get good knowledge better understanding it wont be possible when you are in student level. You will get things when you will start working on it.
So the last thing i wanna tell you is go for it if you have the potential you are going to get whatever you want..
All the best Guys !!
Cheers !!

How s our future as 3d or dynamics artist here in India or any compositor... coz not often we see some seniors above 40 yrs in this field...Do we have a career settlement ??...or How to settle our career in safe zone in this industry just need u r suggestion...Some general timing and shift issues...pay packages...Working environment etc...Please suggest or share u r thoughts sir
Tell me what to do now i in very much tension what to do now i felling like signing this song because the situation is like this Kya karein kya na karein ye kaisi mushkil hay Koi to bata de iska hal o mere bhai
sadly this IS the truth. Especially for character animators. Why ? Because we just dont have the number of jobs compared to the number of students graduationg from out institutes.
ASk yourself these questions -
how many companies do work for local market ?
does any of them have staff of over 25-30 arttists ?
whats the starting salary ?
which outsourceing companies do animation in india ?
do they hire on project basis or as employees ?
Finding work i specially hard for character animators and riggers , compared to those who do acthetectural work

Still learnig new things each day.
Stared with achitecture, now doing VFX for movies...its been a intresting journey.
yes ppl its true 3datri has said it acurately it cant be anymore clear MAAC arena and all that crap institutes just monopolised on our confused brains creativity cant be taught neigher can there be standards to mesure it those are just ways to make money by brilliant minds. if u think u r brilliant as them learn from what they have to offer and create ur own, show ur potential and talent. Bus aur ladki ke piche kabhi jana nahi chahiye dusri ayegi....................... think...
Additionally I feel that people should realise that apart from creativity the key requirement for animation is technical implementations to materialise creativity.
If I might post a term, procreativity is more the watchword, being creative and technically sound to implement it. We should remember the old days when alien animation required using a puppet tediously over multiple frames to create one fluid sequence, using a serious of model cutouts and collaging them together to create a seemingly seamless matte painting. What materialised the artists imagination was clear determination that what was imagined could be implemented technically.
CG borders both arts and engineering and requires animators and artists alike to focus on implementation. Unfortunately this is unregulated so like BEs and MBAs earlier there are dime-a-dozen "institutes" that "train" people. At the end of the day the old idiom holds true that a bad workman blames his tools. On the contrary, a good workman is one who gets the job done, who makes David a reality with just rock, hammer and sickle.
Please focus on implementation and use Open source instead of pirated proprietary software. That way as CG architects we will get a better hang off additional aspects such as cost-control for production, legalities related to end-results and building from scratch rather than using pre-defined modules.
All the best and godspeed. Struggle for success and thrive on competition rather than disheartening people to get ahead.
