Hello,
I would like to know how important it is to hold a bachelors degree(in anything) to get ahead in the industry. I am 23 and I have yet to start doing a college degree since my options are limited I would like to spend my time doing something more directly related to this line (sculpting,painting,programming etc.). (MAAC diploma already done-no job as yet). Is it possible to earn a healthy salary without a college degree.

Well answer to ur questions...

1. Difference b/w Animation & VFX :-

'Animation' by the name itself informs us to Animate or simply move something, moving a 2D sketches in a sequence or 3D character in a Viewport.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AND ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'VFX' i.e. visual effects are the effects which are given after the animation or in the case even in the Live Action films also.
Example :- To give a fire effect in a film we'll have to create it through any post production Software.
Hello, I like your question ,if u wanna be a good character modeler then try to start anatomy ,like human body,animal,and always think about the proportion of character .
try to study feature and characterization of the character it will give u help to give the proper illusion in character-e.g. if u wan make 60 year old man then study the anatomy,features,characteristic of that person ,after that go to software to make your character .
About Software - plz plz dont be confused about software bec software is not permanent ,its always to be interchange according to time or production demand,so always try to learn art of making a Perfect Character,this tool alyes support u to prove your self,so plz plz dont depend on software,always think if u r working on max,maya,Z-Brush or software then your concept is always complete with you Art and techinic so always make your self a good artist.
Its always better to have a video than still shots.
Don't forget to include a shot list with your demo reel. Its the list or play by play of each scene what you actually did in each one.
I would show videos of each rig that you built showing all the bells and whistles of the rig in a sped up fashion, followed by a clip of the rig in action. Make sure to give yourself a diverse assortment of rifs for example:
Realistic Humans
Cartoony Humans
Quadruped
Creature
Vehicle
Male/Female
I hope this helps.
well my question is:-
i want to make my career as a C.G instructor.. it doesn't matter about softwares it matters about creativity..... in my last job i was working as C.G instructor in adobe certified centre(jbc academy of arts and animation,bhubaneswar). i was teaching maya,gaming and new media over there... so what are the future criteria so that i can make my career as an good and friendly instructor...?
waiting for your response BUDDY!!!
Hey Bud,
I would say that a very important aspect of being a good instructor is to stay current on the latest methods and technology. Make films on your own, and tske on small jobs from time to time in the industry. Students want to know that they are getting the most relevent information and traing to get them a job.
I hope this helps?
yes ur true but a small concern..?,y r these course fees r too high while the starting salaries are too low...its not the matter of earning money but the matter is investing money to learn and to get a belief for investors(parents).
am struggling a lot to join the course,still saving money by doing part times. not yet reached the initial fee payment i want to make my career towards vfx.
i want to join by my own money.
Well I believe that the logic behind high course fees are:
1. Software licensing costs: Although many institutes use pirated software, there are a few institutes who actually pay for licensing.
2. Electricity: Infrastructure of multiple PCs needs some serious juice, so on a monthly basis institutes must pay some amount to electricity companies.
3. Salaries of Faculties/Other Employees also must require some money.
And finally there needs to be some profit left for the owners so the formula according to me is: Cost of the above + x% margin = fee per student.
