3D ARTIST:
A well-rounded 3D Artist with professional experience in multiple areas of
production
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development:
. Create high-quality 3D character models, textures, environments and props
for real-time rendering for gaming projects
. Create high-quality character animations based on concept description,
character description and storyboard
. Optimize 3D models for real-time rendering in games. This includes
optimizing low-poly models and high-poly models using poly reduction
techniques
. Create 3D props for realistic and immersive environments
. Have a good sense of volume, lighting and materials to apply to the game
scene
. Give precise and constructive feedback on 3D Game Art created for the
project
. Have the ability to work as a team player with designers, developers and
producers
. Produce and deliver suitable art resources to the team
. Receive feedback and modify work based on direction
. Consistently deliver high quality art work
. Follow schedules and meet deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
. 2-5 years of experience working as a 3D Artist for games, animation or
films
. At least 1 published AAA game experiencing a full development cycle
. Knowledge of creating 3D models for iPhone and Android platforms will be
an advantage
. Solid background in academic drawing, traditional art, sketching and/or
illustration
Soft skills:
. Demonstrable experience in 3D modelling and animation, texture and
environment asset creation for real-time rendering
. Experience with texturing and lighting inside a real-time rendering engine
. Understand game production design process and methodology
. Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems efficiently
. Have ability to work under pressure and balance the impacts of deadlines
and resources with the style and quality requirements of a project
. Have strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on
multiple priorities and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
. Ability to work cooperatively on a team consisting of artists, programmers
and designers
. Excellent attention to detail, self-initiative and follow-through
. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
. Excellent ability to learn new skills through research and self-teaching
Hard Skills:
. Knowledge of game development process from concept, pre-production,
production, post-production to final product release
. Strong background in traditional art skills and clear understanding of
composition, perspective, anatomy and colour
. Knowledge of 3D modelling and texturing tools such as Photoshop, Autodesk
Maya, Z-Brush and/or 3D Studio Max
. Strong written and oral communication
Education:
B.A. or equivalent degree

RESPONSIBILITIES
Development:
. Work closely with the project lead and the other team leads to define the
artistic goals for a game
. Create concept drawings and paint overs, including but not limited to:
environments, props and characters
. Suggest and create appropriate game styles and character personalities
. Work with the development team on a daily basis to effectively meet the
aesthetic, stylistic and technical quality bar
. Produce and deliver suitable art resources to the team
. Receive feedback and modify work based on direction
. Ensure consistency and quality of own work
. Follow schedules and meet deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
. 2+ years of experience working as a concept artist for games, animation,
film
. At least 1 published game experiencing a full dev cycle
