“Tangled: Storybook Deluxe” for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch Released
Disney Worldwide Publishing has released another app for the iOS platform. Coming on the heels of “
The Lion King: Timon’s Tale” is “Tangled: Storybook Deluxe”, which is now available over at the
iTunes Store.
Just like The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, this interactive book is designed to help your children learn to read, while also exploring the story in a fun, interactive way! In addition to that, there are also several games that your children will love to play, so let’s take a look at all that this app has to offer!
With this app, your child can re-enact the movie right on your device, and there are some video scenes that are incorporated right into the app. For instance, I love this part of the story where Maximus and Flynn Rider shake hands.
In addition to some of the movie scenes that are incorporated into the app, there are numerous games that you can play, both right at the beginning or during the reading of the story. For example, you can put together puzzles from scenes in the book, as this picture illustrates.
You can also play a game where you match up the floating lanterns to get points.
And you can take the color out of a scene, and color it in yourself.
There are a lot of the Disney apps that allow you to do all of this, but what makes Tangled even better is the subtle things that you can do, the things that really just make you smile, and realize that they went above and beyond with this app. As an example, what was the one thing that Flynn Rider kept talking about whenever he saw his picture in a wanted poster? Of course, it was his nose!
Well, the creators of the app thought even of that. In the story, you can touch Flynn’s nose on the page, and it will change to different styles! Just take a look at these two pictures and you’ll see!
The price of Tangled: Storybook Deluxe is currently listed at $6.99, which does seem a little high to me. I really enjoy the app, and my daughter does too, but whether or not it is worth the cost is entirely up to you.
