Default Maya 2012 viewport error - pls help

Hi everyone,
I need a help in dealing with a viewport error in Maya 2012. I am working on a scene in Maya 2012. Normally the scene looks like this...

http://postimage.org/image/ksf47fmqt

Then if i click the camera or some objects the inner part of the scene goes transparent with a wierd mesh. Something like this...

http://postimage.org/image/wvokpd68r

Outside it looks like this

http://postimage.org/image/xtixl8b1h/

But this is only affecting the viewport. I mean if i render the scene thereis absolutly no issues. Everything is good. Even in this condition i can save the scene and next time when i open there wont be any issue unless i click the camera or objects. When it is displayed in viewport it gives this issue. Then i have to restart maya to get over with this issue and it starts again when i click camera. I can select things in outliner without any issue but its very uncomfortable some times.

May be there would have been an error while working on the scene and i kept on saving it and may be thats why i am not able to fix it. But still i would like to know if there is any fix for this issue? !!! Please Help !!!!

I m not sure what exactly is causing it but my first suspicion would be your Graphics drivers, try updating them to the latest available.

Also mention which GFX card you're using.

Have you tried changing the texture and then reapplying the original texture back to the affected objects?

How long have you been using Maya ? Is this thing happening recently ? or was it from the beginning ? If it has started recently then try rolling back to the older GFX driver you were using. Once I had a situation that my overall gfx card performance got weird rolled back to the older driver and everything went fine.

I have been using Maya for more than 1 year. It never happened to me and strangely it has been happening only with Maya 2012. Maya 2011 has no issues.
I do think it might have something to do with the driver s/w. May be its not installed correctly or may be as you said rolling back to previous might work. I will try it and tell. Thanks for the suggestion.

Some times 3D app like Max and Maya wire framed its' model to faster movement of camera or animation. So, I think in this case Maya is doing that.

And what about the render? Is your render is coming correct? You have not mentioned it. Just render and show, than we can further help. Also update your DirectX.

I don't think it is a clipping problem. To make sure, try and adjust that in your camera.

I think that possibility is incorrect because all the models are quads and you can clearly see the wireframe seen after the error is triangles. But if I switch to wireframe mode i am getting the quads back. This error is seen in Shading mode.

And i did mentioned that rendering is coming good without any issues. Please check the second last paragraph(the big one). This is only affecting the viewport. Its very annoying working with this kind of error. My Directx is version 11.

Anyway thanks for the reply.

The following may not work but its worth a try:

First backup your "maya" folder in the Documents folder.

1. Delete the 2012 folder in Documents>maya folder.

2. Do this if the 1st one doesn't work, Do the 1st step then copy the 2011 folder from Documents>maya and paste it into the same folder(so you get 2011 - Copy), now rename 2011 - Copy to 2012 and see if the works.

And also did you roll back to previous driver ?

Hi
It worked. I deleted the Maya prefs and now it solved the issue. Now when i click camera the transparency comes and remains only a fraction of a second and goes back to the normal view. That is ok. I am now able to work. Thanks a lot omkarjere.
If any one gets this error just DELETE MAYA 2012 PREFERECES and restrat maya everything will be fine.
Oh by the by rolling back drivers didnt worked. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Glad it worked. If you encounter it again then try the 2nd step that I mentioned.
