showing dependency loop error while linking

hi all,
i was doing a character rigging for my final year project. but its showing an error like "cannot link: Dependency loop" while trying to link thigh bone to hip bone...can anybody tell me what is happening and how to solve this...it would be a help for me plz

this error means that you are trying to make an object a child of something thats already a parent of that object.

If you wnat both thighs and hip bone to go together, parent both to the root ctrl
