texturing Work in progress, critics and suggestions needed
hey friends.
this is the first big thing m trying to texture.
its a low/ medium poly jeep to be textured as damaged, burned and scratched . As its a new big thing for texturing for me ... i really need some critics, suggestions n more ideas to finish the texturing of this vehicle.
i will be uploading the basic model the updated model, its unwraps, textures n references m going to use and the WIP aswell..
PLEASE COMMENT as to whatever the first thing comes to ur mind, how is it looking, n how it can look better.
Thanks in advance
Ashish

Good job on the modeling. I would add the shocks on the inside of the front wheels since they would be visible. Looks like a nice project. Can't wait to see it finished.

Hey ashimator, I'm guessing this is a U.S. army jeep, right? The model looks good and I know it's a W.I.P. so I don't wanna rip it apart, but there are some important modeling details that are missing, have not been added, or need adjusting. Check some references and you'll see. Just off the top a few things that stick out from the angle of the shot....
I feel ya should add the running board along the side that you would step on to get into the jeep.
The part where the bumper connects to the grill needs some work because it looks like it's just floating.
The head lights should be set back into the grill.
No offense man. Like I said before it's a nice model, but it would be so much better if ya added the little details before you start texturing.
Keep up the good work!

Maybe this is something for you too, the very basics but those are always
good to re-read to get it into long-term memory
http://www.leighvanderbyl.com/tutorials.html
and when I searched to find out where the above link where again I also
found a compilation of the above author that about photo-realistic texturing
that cover both the same and some more I think. I add it too
http://www.foundation3d.com/uploads/...-12-431262.pdf
Have fun :-)
