* What is RamSinghKumaresh?

RamSinghKumaresh is the name of the initiative started by Vivek Ram, Ranjit Singh and Vaibhav Kumaresh to bridge the gap between education and training in animation.

* What does bridging the gap mean?

What we're trying to do is to spread the general awareness of animation as a medium for film making where the artist learns to looks outside the tools and into a more holistic zone as a film maker or an artist. We address the nuances of animation film making without getting into the technical specification, while understanding the challenges of envisioning good films.You can learn the tools at your respective institutes / schools; we will give you a fundamental concept based understanding of animation so that you develop into a complete animation film maker.

*What is this Module, Session, Class, can you explain?

In simple terms, 3 Modules = 1 complete Master Class. 1 Module = 1 full day. The module will cover the entire subject of animation film making, which has been broken down into the topics listed for ease of understanding. ALL topics will be discussed together as a comprehensive subject. So Module 1 will cover Part 1 of each of the 3 topics, Module 2 will cover Part 2 of each the 3 topics and Module 3 will cover Part 3 of each of the 3 topics.


*What are these sub-parts listed under the classes? Will the day be divided into 3 sessions as well?

The 3 topics listed cover the entire gamut of animation film making. They have been put there to explain what we are going to discuss. It’s an overall explanation of the content. The day is not broken into separate sessions. It’s a complete experience, so if to explain an aspect of storytelling with respect to characterization, if we need, we will talk about anatomical structure and design and movement to illustrate the point.

* What new topics will be covered in module 2 and 3?

As explained above, each master class is split into 3 modules of a day each. The topic remains the same through all three modules, where we start with a basic level to a more advanced one over the 3 days. Look at it more as one big class split over 3 days with assignments in between.

* What is the difference between RamSinghKumaresh –The Animation Masterclass– and other master classes?

There are many important differences, among them:

* 3 module structure, to ensure feedback and review opportunity

* Complete subject is being addressed in its entirety for the first time

* Three speakers will address the audience together on all the topics

* A non-technical and fundamentals based approach to simplify concepts

* Interactive reviews and discussions with total audience involvement

* Assignments for audience to take home and continue with the experience

* Subsequent modules to ensure a sustained approach to learning

* Collective discussion opportunity in subsequent modules

* Live tool-independent demonstrations of concepts

*So is this another seminar on animation?

This is a seminar with a twist. We wish to follow up with the students after each session unlike the general seminar format, by givin assignments and allowing room for critiquing what comes back as submissions. This will help both the students and us have more control and focus towards what is shared in each session.Discussions will not be limited to RamSinghKumaresh’s viewpoints alone. We are interested in audience critique as well. So you need to have your thinking caps on at all times.

*Since there are 3 modules, do I have to sign up for all 3 right away?

We would highly recommend signing up for all 3 right away. This is not a compulsion though. An attendee can chose to sign up for the each module as they are announced. Although we do caution you that missing even one of the modules will break the continuity of the sessions for you. It’s your choice. Attend the first one and come prepared to register for 2 & 3 if you like

* I am not tech savvy; will this Masterclass be useful for me?

The basic premise for the audience is an interest in animation film making. Understanding of tools and technology is nice but not a pre-requisite for all those wishing to attend. If you like animation film making, story telling, or just want to expand your horizons, this is the place you should be

* How do I register?

You can register by making cash payments to any of the given contacts in the registration page and collecting your pass. Please read all the details carefully for a safe and comfortable journey with us!

* The fee looks quite ridiculous at only INR 1000/-. Is this for 1 module or for all 3 modules?

1 module = 1 full day = INR 1000/- per seat. You may also register for all 3 modules in advance, i.e. INR 3000/-, the choice is yours. There are no spot registrations, but we will make registrations available for Module 2 and 3 for all those who have registered for Module 1, so if you like you can carry the fee for Modules 2 & 3 when you come to attend Module 1. It will save you the bother of traveling to a registration center again.

* Mode of payment is not mentioned, can I pay by cheque, pay order, bank transfer?

At present only CASH payments are being accepted. A direct bank transfer or cash deposit is also acceptable. Details of the account number and bank are available on personal contact. Call any one of numbers listed for assistance.

* What other information do you need about me, and why?

The information is required for security compliance at the venue. All attendees have to be registered with the security office and this information has to be sent to them in advance.

*The website has a Subscribe to Database button. Will you reserve my seat, if I subscribe?

Subscription to our database is to enable us to keep you updated on all future developments. IT DOES NOT IMPLY REGISTRATION / RESERVATION. You have to make the requisite payment in order to reserve your seat.

*Why no Spot registrations?

The logistics and support required in order to manage the crowds in spot registrations is huge. At present RamSinghKumaresh does not have the luxury of such organizational support, so we are minimizing the crowd management requirements through pre-registrations. Also it gives us a complete idea of how many attendees to expect well before the event, so that if any special arrangements have to be made, we are prepared in advance for the same.

*Why at Whistling Woods? Are they associated with you in any way?

RamSinghKumaresh is NOT associated with any institute, college or organisation. It’s a unit in its own right. Whistling Woods has generously offered use of their facility for the 1st Module. The association is limited by this arrangement only and for the 1st module at present. We may come back for Module 2 and 3 to Whistling Woods or may conduct it in another venue; it all depends on the response we get for Module 1.

* Will RamSinghKumaresh travel to other parts of India? And when?

The arrangements required for traveling to other parts are many, local venue has to be booked, local registration centers have to be opened, travel, boarding, lodging arrangements for us have to be made, and all this only if there is a minimum or captive crowd assurance. Our aim is to travel all over the country, in fact even the world if possible. However we will require support at the ground level for this to be made feasible.

*What are these special packages for training institutes?

Any training institute can contact us to come to their campus for an exclusive Masterclass with their students. In this case we have various models available that can enable an institute to provide serious value add to its students at a very nominal fee.
