(personally I am also saving for a professional card, as regular cards sometimes failed to perform when it comes to rendering process. And yes, I was a hardcore gamer, I played NFS series for hours, finished Max Payne 2 in 3 days and done lots of things which I should proud myself. But now a days, I have stopped playing. Because of three reasons,

    1. I got no time.

    2. Hardware is changing so fast that after 6 months your card plays like out dated.

    3. Games are more card specific. Such as some games run better in Nvidia cards and some are in ATIs.

    4. Again the more powerful card need more power. So the electricity bill goes up.

So, I think, now a days it is better to go for platform gaming (like PS or Xbox), PS2 Is a very good and cheap option and also lots of good games are there for it. As far as PC game concerned, I play in Ibibo and Minisitry of war.com)

Oh, Than you should not go for GTX 5xx Series Card. Now I should know which type of game you play? If you play racing games than you need very good and fast gfx card which can also support 3d apps. But if you are a game who plays slow games like FPS, RTS; than you should go for a professional gfx card such as Nvidia's Quadro series. At your budget you can go for entry level Quadro 600 card. It supports all the 3d apps and a great value for money. You can check this site for more information

Thanks for writing to me. At your budget I think Nvidia's GTX 560 or 560 Ti will be a great choice to go for. As this GPU supports all the latest technology such as 3D vision, CUDA, SLI, Direct X 11, PhysX and also all the latest pc games.

You can buy this card about 12000+. But with this card you should buy a proper PSU (unless you got one already) and a good solid CPU case. All these stuffs should come in under 15000/- bucks.

    So, have fun.

Also you can check this link for more information about the GPU
