Need help in Maya animation,plz help!!!

Hi,
I am new to maya animation.But I am facing one problem while animating lifting a box.After positioning the hand on the box...when want to lift the box...I want to keep the hand on the box in the same position but the pelvic to move...I want to make it like he is trying to lift the box but its not moving an inch...but what is happening whenever I am trying to change the pelvic position to show the effort,the hand is getting shifted from its fixed position...if I try to get it into the same position manually in the nxt frame its hardly coinciding with the previous frame and showing jerks....pls suggest me any way to lock the hand with the box????I have tried point contrains but that is also not working properly9Might be I havn't done it properly)...i contrained the finger contoller with the box...But not working???can u plz suggest me any tutorial or something about it??I Know nothing about rigging...so if I hav to something with the rigg pls pls xplain...I m stuck and time is running out..I need to complete my animations as soon as possible....

A 180 Turn, a Sneak and a Skip

I've worked on three animation pieces.
First here's the 2D of the 180 Turn

And the 3D version. This is not the general sneak ie. it's poses are different to add to the creepy feeling. For eg. in the contact pose, the spine has an opposite curve to the general sneak. It shows that Boris is hesitating to take the step. He's not sneaking out of somewhere, he's walking in a very controlled manner and very quietly because he's scared of something.

But Now I m Free, i have no job nothing... i think This ANimation is worst thing. it just for pulicity stunt So that Animation comeout and highlight in world.. but if Students go in detail than they will comes to know how difficult it is ? to get job industry....

Hi there, this is my 1st ever art work to cgtantra. I used photoshop for it & I think most of you know that this is a copy of one of the best character ever created and its also my favorite this is the PRINCE OF PERSIA.
I copied it because I wish to be a concept artist and you know, to be the concept artist you need to have great sketching & visualizing skill & the best way to develop it you have to practice a lot and also copy the pro's work.

The �I have a dream� foundation works to ensure quality education and skills to children coming from low income and high violence zones. After the accidental beginning of the foundation in 1981 in New York, the foundation has been spread to other parts of the world. The program was initiated in Dallas in Sept 1986 by Bill and the late Elaine Farrell. The board members of IHAD-Dallas has many dignitaries including David Disiere of the Deep South Surplus of Texas, Helen M. Dorsey, Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Inc. James W. Loose Galloway-James Inc. and others. The foundation has experienced enormous success with the graduation rate of the students involved in the program.

About the workshop: Creating a feature quality shot from concept all the way to final CG polish in Maya.

The main objective of the workshop is to show how a Supervising Animator creates a feature quality shot from concept all the way to final CG polish in Maya. The shot will be approx 5 - 6 feet (80 - 100 frames) in length. This is the average length of a shot in a feature movie and the average output required by studios. Normally this could be achieved in one full day, but with demos, discussions, brainstorming and Q&A, we will complete it over the course of the three day workshop.

Day1

We will discuss the process of animation from Jason�s perspective and why it's so important to do a blue-print for your shot. Over the course of the day we will be solving the performance for the shot in Flipbook. Using the audience as a Director, Jason will be taking input and preparing the shot for CG animation. Also a Q&A session about the studios and directors he has worked with and their different likes and dislikes in animation.

Day2

This is where the bulk of the work will be done in Maya - we'll block out the golden poses, keys and breakdowns using our Flipbook performance as a blue-print. We will also make sure that our 2D flipbook animation is solved from every angle, stressing the importance of animating everything, even off-screen animation.

Day3

This is where we create the final polish for the shot adding finesse and detail that may not be expected but will be noticed. We'll then finish with a Q&A and talk about creating showreels for the Big Studios.

Jason Ryan is former Disney Animation Supervisor and now currently working at DreamWorks. He also used to be one of the original mentors at animationmentor.com. His started out in 2D animation and then successfully continued to 3D, He has worked on classics such as fantasia 2000 and also on modern feature films including Meet the Robinsons, American Dog and Chicken Little where he was the Supervising animator as well as the main animator for the character Chicken Little.

hi, sharing a 2nd collab. a 3D version of one of my own oil paintings, titled: In the Studio -2. painted on canvas. it was a really interesting work to carry on in a set, defined time.
my friend at work, sajid saim did all the modeling and lighting and i myself handled the direction, texturing and the overall mood/look.
ofcourse its very hard to get the charm of an oil painting, but we somehow did achieve a fairly decent result, that we are fairly content with. done in maya - mental ray.
