<P>hey shounak.....i'd seen ur previous concepts on the mahabharata too...and i really like ur work.....and u got some serious art skills.....</P>
<P>as for the concepts...i liked the armour and all...but i'd suggest u go in for a lot more detail...cos ur work has potential though it lacks that detail that comes from research...dont take me wrong.......what i meant was regardin the characters....e.g....the chariots look very br chopra.....maybe u could design them to look like the kind of war machines they were to withstand nuclear onslaught.......</P>
<P>in the krishna arjuna pic....i'm guessin this is the scene from "yoga of the cosmic form"....in that case......u could add a lot more in this pic...cos arjuna's description of krishna in this form(which horrifies and astonishes him at the same time) is elaborate and spans many stanzas.........and as for arjuna...the guys a 6 foot plus hero...well builts and regal....very handsome.......which doesnt quite reflect in ur sketch.......</P>
<P>these are just a few suggestions which can make ur work much better.....cos i've been workin on a few concepts of the mahabharata myself so been doin research on the various aspects(not that i'm sayin ur not).......i'd love to brain storm with u sometime.......all the best if ur takin this further to a movie......would loveto see more concepts......cheers<IMG src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0"></P>

<P>hey thanks for the crits.. i actually dont like arjuna myself...implannin to go wild with this Mahabharata thing but the thing is currently this art is part of my project at IDC, so i have certain constraints as far as the 'look' goes..some people have mind sets here man. so im limiting myself jus for this project..btw i have some whacked out Mahabharata ones i will post later...</P>

<P>hey shounak....."whacked out" is what i'm talkin bout!!!....<IMG src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0">....and as far as mind sets go.....u really cant go against the actual text can u!.....just a heads up...that ig u guys havent really read the actual mahabharata....verse by vers...cos a lot of detail is left out in the abridged versions....and when u do read...we get to realise that Ved Vyas was pretty "whacked out"(forgive the usage) as anyone who loves fantasy.......there are various instances in the textx which actually make u wonder about the scale of the war and the passion of the warriors(the war was faugt by "every" king in the indian peninsula except balaram and one other and it was more of a game for many warriors to prove their valour than anythin else....instances where krishna warns arjuna&nbsp; to stop playin and finish an enmy lest he picks up a weapon).......i'll try and post the info that i have on this and the ramayan on the "indianism" thread soon.......</P>

<P>hey i checked on this site. Btw...if u wanna go deeep in ur reserch chk out B.O.R.I short for Bhandarkar oriental research institute...i visited them 2 months bak. BORI has the actual sanskrit scriptures and virtually every book there is on the Mahabharata...i would recommend that u definitely chk it out. There is some stuff ul get nowhere else....think il post some of the info iv got...but u should visit BORI..its at pune. Igot some mind blowing stuff there...also chk out Vimanas in the Mahabharata and the site</P>

dude...looks like u and me share pretty similar interests!!....i'm from
pune so i'm well aware of the institute though i still havent made a
trip there<img src="smileys/smiley7.gif" border="0">....waitin for my exams to
finish so i can spend enuf time......and the link u gave me.....already
been there....actually downloaded every page they have on that site<img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0">.........now
we really gotta meet up and brainstorm sometime.......anyways...all the
