So you work in a studio... well does your studio have a renderfarm .. well i just start to wonder is when do we actuly get to see a 3dsoftware which is totallt Realtime based.. model realtime(like the render region style/ Active render).... texture realtime...sound and lighting realtime...and ofcourse animate and playback realtime....(ok render real-time as well)... we see the big studios like crest animation studios, cgi mantra mumbai, and DAM are such to name a few. have these heaven dressed in tecnology areas.. what i wanna know is.. the formula behind a renderfarm .. how much time can i save.. without comprmising on qulaity... how many cpu's and at what conig.... i guess you guys got my point....

good topic,
i dont know, how many can participate in these discussions,

well, not aware bout the software part, of realtime, how long it will take to develop

but, verymuch aware of renderfarms , and the formula, in india

Watz happening with BCS, they've opened the renderfarm on rent in mumbai??

well i guess nobody will disclose the formula of rendefarm, bout the cpu's config etc.,

but as far as i know, i've contacted these renderfarms, and they are
all rated according to the timely delivery and speed and cost
effective, few resources of mine,
if u get info bout these renderfarms, pls lemme know
5. https://renderplanet.com/

6. http://www.respower.com/index.php

7. http://www.rendernow.com/

out of these, respower is the best, for anystudio,

but i doubt you can get the information bout the renderfarm , still

little info bout the ILM
ILM renderfarm has over 2500 processors, approx 4 million mflops
Storage capacity over 80 terabytes - This is enough to store the ENTIRE printed collection of the US Library of Congress
in 2003, over 13.7 million frames passed through our pipeline (equivalent to 79 movies)
in 2003, approx 9 petabytes of data passed through our network

Number of shots completed in 2003: 2,063
Average number of takes per shot: 20
Computer Graphics Department: 460 Artists
Number of computer Rooms: 4
Average nightly data transfer render servers & file servers: 90 Terabytes
Total data backed up annually: 300 Petabytes
Main computer room uses 450kVA; enough for 500-800 suburban homes
Number of Linux based desktop machines for production: 80

indian studios cant afford these, or atleast now, soon , we will be there
