Hey there Manav,

BRAVO!

Very well done. Simple and strong! Just get rid of that moom walk and run cycle. You shouldn't put any weak stuff in your reel to make it lengthy.

The first acting/dialog shot....

The acting looks pretty good but there is no need to hold the gun all the time. You could have used the gun in a more appropriate manner, I guess.
At "two men I trust"...there is no need to show "two" with his fingers. Its a kinda cliche, and should be avoided unless you really need that in your shot. The acting should come from his internal thoughts and those thoughts should appear clearly on the screen. The external gestures are done when they are needed to help you convey the feelings/thoughts clearly on the screen. There should be a reason behind your every move.

The eyes look floaty. Whenever you animate a dialog/acting shot, never ignore the eyes. They are the window to the soul of the character. Floaty eyes makes a character look dead.
When he puts his left hand on the chair, it looks IK-ish and its floating around on the arm-rest. You are using IK hands, maybe, and you haven't cleaned it up. Clean up the hand and the elbow.

The hammer animation.... It lacks weight, definitely. You need to re-time it and try delaying the wrists and the hammer and drag the whole thing while bringing it in.
The way your character moves his right foot back a bit, doesn't look good. There is no need to do that, I guess. If you have to do that, observe yourself, and get a video reference. Its just not looking right. Fix it, or remove it.

Self jumping ball.... You shouldn't keep the stretched contact pose for more than 1 frame or maximum, 2. Right now, I don't know why, it looks like you're keeping that stretched contact pose for more than a frame, killing all the energy of the jump. I'm not using quicktime, so I could be wrong though. So, please correct me if I'm wrong. However, I can clearly feel the error visually, so I don't think I'm wrong. Well, you know what?? My eyes are so well trained that I can clearly spot out a single wrong frame running @24FPS! WOW! My eyes are real fast! Don't you think that I'm great? ;) Hehh... just kidding, dude. Well, yeah...my eyes are kinda quick (I guess!). heheh.... :O

Anyhow, this is your first reel. And if you're doing this much, its really great! You're really doing some animation! Great work. ;)
I think, all the new kids here on these forums, should get a lesson from this reel. If you're starting out and wanna make your FIRST demo reel.... check this one out! This is what I mean when I say these two magic words--- "simple" and "strong". Well, of course its a newbie work, and there are a lot of room for improvement... but its well thought out and everything looks quite solid up to the point.

Keep learning/improving and try to bring perfection in your work. As an animator, you have to be a perfectionist all the time (at least try to be one)!
Keep animating, good luck!
