I have gone through with your query and agree that if u want to be a sucessfull animator you need to be an artist rather than merely knowing softwares as you should know a good animator is a good artist. Before you decide for a institute consider the facts like their approach (software focussed or creativity), training methodology (project oriented or theoritical/practical), faculties if any hanlded hollywood projects, placements % do check appointment letters. I can suggest you to visite the website www.picasso.co.in (http://picasso.co.in)

I think the career of an animator totally depend on the creativity and conceptualization. No institute can train you just creativity can take you the no. 1 position and don't be confused its a great career ahead in INDIA

Hi dnaidu1982 !!!:)

To jump into animation - u should learn the softwares like 3ds max, Maya, motion builder.

i can guarantee, this direction will definetly not help. learning softwares will never help. learn the ART not the softwares

yes definately,
al you need to be a good animation professional is an aptitute towards it.
as far my experiences goes, you can learn any thing so don't worry whether you are a good drawing artist or no.
what i learnt from graphiti School, they always say learn the conepts as learning a software is no big deal, but when your basucs are right. you can apply it to any thing.

they have also started specilisation course for Modeling, Rigging, Lighting, Animation, texturing, . i would suggest you go an talk to them .
