hey bro .......................:D i am a 3d modeler too......
and i bought my Dell inspiron a few weeks back ...and i honestly love to work with this 19 inch lcd screen of mine compared to the CRT i had before ..
maximum difference between the LCD wht i hav and the CRT monitors would be ki i can see lil difference in contrast at different eye levels ..very lil ...
rest everything is kool ... :)

if you are a lighting artist u wd go for a CRT monitor, to see that actual colours. LCD doesnt support all the shades.. lil difference can make a Big difference on screen ... :)
go for View Sonic professional series, it wd be a lil expensive.
Wide screen will affect ur modelling that is if u do a maximize full screen of the application whichh u r wrking on.
