If you are a fresher then don't take this profession(animation particularly) as easy !!! Many people who don't have any other options / want some break from regular academics think that its comparatively easier (much credit goes to our institutions !!!) who pose it a multi million business and hence seems very attractive to them .You have to be very serious and dedicated to stand out as compared to other professions like management and other IT professions where freshers are consumed at comparatively higher salaries.I think the industry is growing and already very competitive.Animation is a true form of arts and neede to be treated like that only if you really think that you have the ability to do that or you have some artistic abitilies then go for it .This is my own opinion and I am not an animator myself but I think that "animators" need respect !!!

I don't have any intentions to demoralize you but to bring the true picture !!!

Do 1/2 year abroad which teach quality education like VFS or Sheridan. Or if you can't go abroad, then I recommend joining a online course like the one offered by Animation Mentor or Gnomon workshop, which are obviously usually cheaper than going abroad

Mayank,

First of all, a word of caution. As Ekalavya has mentioned, animation isn't such an easy field to break into. And India has a serious dearth of good training institutes.

How much you'll get as a fresher, and how much later on, really depends on so many things. In case you take up 3D animation, most organizations will pay you between 6k and 10k per month as a fresher. In 2 to 3 years, if you do well, you should be in the 25k to 40k range.

I hope that helps!
