CG jobs & education in Newzealand

<P style="MARGIN: 0px">Hey Artists,Which CG School in newzealand&nbsp;will you&nbsp;suggest me for aiming to breakin the&nbsp;CG market there..How abt Media Design School in Auckland..? what's the practical CG job Scene in Newzealand,Australlia..for International students(India).?</P>

<P>It would be my pleasure to let u know about the status of newzealand regarding our industry.... i was, still am quite facinted by the movie LOTR.... &amp; when got to know it was done by WETA, Newzealand. i just wanted to go there ... study &amp; make my carrer there itself.... so&nbsp;i attened various seminars for studying abroad.... sp. to newzealand.......&amp; if i am not wrong ur facination for the movie is leading u to this.... &amp; if i m wrong<IMG src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0">&nbsp;neways........</P>
<P>the person conducting the seminar was the member of the ambessy... he had no idea at all what i was talking about......i said visual effects, sp. fx, compositing..... anyways what i figured out was the the climate is&nbsp;very bad &amp; it rain the entire year, also it is very cold there..... the population of the entire country is just that of andheri(W) of maybe half.... secured place but only for people who are interested in <strong><EM>agriculture &amp; pharmacy</EM></strong>..... even doctors &amp; engineers don't have much scope.<IMG src="smileys/smiley11.gif" border="0">.... &amp; to start working u should be studying there for an year or so else some really good experience......</P>
<P>the people in WETA are all from U.S. with excellent financial backing &amp; they opened a studio there 'coz the location they wanted were found in newzealand &amp; they wanted fast production.... &amp; not waste time in transport......</P>
<P>so by now u must have got few answers to ur question.......</P>

Thanks alot..! Actually i'm more interseted in getting into Gaming studios as a 3D Artist. So can u suggest a practical way to launch mycareer..either through some quality training..if it exists in Asia-singapore,etc. or geting self-trained by net tutorials,etc.&nbsp;seeing my&nbsp;intermediate level in 3dmax,photoshop,etc.

i guess, australia, a better place to study &amp; even for jobs, than
NZ, but , anyhow, canada tops in animation schools, majority are there,
but nothing wrong in having the basics right even from indian arts
schools, &amp; keep learning from net &amp; maybe joining as intern in
some good studios, will guide to get into this industry<br>

<P>i guess singapore could be a better option to study if canada &amp; U.S.&nbsp; seems a difficult option......... as they do good &amp; if you search through google u will find good 3Dartists &amp; compositors from singapore............. soory for being biased by compositing as it is my feild....</P>

i am currently in Singapore ! Working for SMALL AD COMPANY as

<br />and sorry to tell its not a good choice for students coming for india !
<br />trust me i have a friend teaching animation [ NYP singapore ] here
<br />and the quality of students is so low the teachers have to tone - down
<br />there teaching
<br />
<br />most of the really good singaporean artists have had their education
<br />outside the country ! and they work here only for a while then they
<br />have there showreel to work elsewhere in th eworld
<br />
<br />They have very good equipment and infrastructure ! but very few
<br />who can teach on it and operate at proffessional level.
<br />
<br />YOU have to belive me ! cause the local animation talent get a
<br />exclusive time on one of the mobile tv channels to air there Short
<br />films and every evening i go home i am forced to see all the worst
<br />content on planet earth ! [ even current socialy relevnt topics are set
<br />in future + Matrix ]

<br />if u are looking for best animation education in singapore then i
<br />suggest buy a good pc, install AC, good music, food and beverages,
<br />and start practicing at home now ! cause i dont think you want to
<br />spent anybodies hard earned money on a long vacation in
<br />SINGAPORE

<br />Out of my experience USA, CANNADA, UK, is best for education in
<br />ANIMATION + CG Related EDUCATION
<br />
<br />look through tantra u will find so many learning links it will last ur
<br />lifetime learning
