Apart from the huge building the education level of this institute will be same as Picasso or any other animation institute,as usually these days institutes are having tie-ups with not so recognize college abroad, but as we indian's have fond of having foreign degree/diploma so they try to cash on that.
And just try to find out the fee for this institute ,I think if I would have that much money I would go abroad to study where at least faculty is highly educated and experienced than any of those which are open here in INDIA.
Any how those who wish to spend and learn I should say have fun and enjoy.
andy_maxman :- Thanks a lot for your wishes and we do look forward for support from you people as well and BTW congrats and all the best for your graduation and successfull completion in AM
A-Myth & yogesherman:- If you've read this article http://cgtantra.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=55&Itemid=33 or visited the campus, you'll disagree the fees is high. Just for example: we use MACPRO's with 4GB ram, 1TB storage, 20" Apple Cinema Displays, nvidia quadrafx4500 with Apple servers and Renderfarm, just for 3rd & 4th term. These are state of art facility, not many studios will have.
Almost all the seniors, who are winning in cgtantra are associated and conducting workshops/guest lectures in WWIL.
Unless you've visited the campus, it wont be fair to compare with other institutes. If you've read the article, the people who wanted to go for higher education, can go to International college or you can start working.
Top studios from India have already started participating by sending their seniors for guest lectures and taking our students for INTERNSHIPS.
In 2 years, students go for 4 internships, in different studios. There is no college in world, which gives 4 internships.
for international standard, the fees is only 1/3 of what it costs abroad.
the only request/suggestion we can tell the cgtantra members is visit the campus, see yourself or talk to the people who are associated before posting based on assumptions.

I've been to WWIL for quite few times..I've seen the syllabus and met few professors as well..I think its really great to have this kind of school in India..Of course the fees is high..but again..quality never comes in a cheap rates ;) there are lots of GREAT facilities they are providing to their students..some of those facilities are not available even in topmost Animation studios and production houses .
and btw, I really dont think its fair to compare this school with any other institute in India. I can say this just because I've been there in person !

If you have had the benefit of studying art of any form in a college you will agree that most of the learning happens through sharing with seniors or inspiring faculty primarily.having said that, the Animation/modern film making is a new and rapidly evolving industry in India and the senior or most talented folks out here are just about getting to bite into the kind of work they have always been wanting to do.
Sharing knowledge is the next fulfilling activity after performing in the industry or it could even be a great sabbatical between projects for the young achievers.
WWIL or any of the premiere institutes will be as good as the faculty and the curriculum they plan and very soon you will see the best of performing professionals wanting to be part of such a place.
The most important thing is the vision such institutions project and the intent seems to be good at WWIL.
I say this after taking time out at WWIL with the animation students for a week of sharing.
I do not refuse the Ekalavya route to picking up skills for no fees at all but its not the easiest road.
As we have said earlier, THANKS to the industry, who is already supporting WWIL, particularly the seniors who understand the needs of these kind of education and how it helps in the production houses.
Thanks particularly for KAL-EL(Vikram) for your workshop, which was truly amazing, very soon, you'll see those students participating in the forums too.
Thanks Shyam for dropping in, whenever you enroute via Mumbai.
WWIL is one place, where we encourage and engage lots of visiting professionals to interact with students.
Infact, if people know Thomasphoenix, he too interacted with students for a short brief.
Whoever visited WWIL or wants to know any details, post your suggestions, comments which we look forward to do our best for the students and industry.

Hi WWIL !!!
I Agree wid ya that you guys offer world class standards .... but not many people would have that much money to invest and wait for the result....
Im saying this in contrast with wat other multimedia Institutes or colleges are saying they say that they offer low fees and gud placements....
so people get attracted to those offers.....
I request Whistling woods to take this as a positive note and not on a negative note please...... i respect Whistling woods and i wish i got an opportunity to study at Whistling woods...!!!!
Thanks !!!

hi, thanks WWIl to open such a huge facillity for the students, i have been there so many times coz of the seminars and love the place and atmosphere there and wish that, i could have joined thr but for the all new folks thats a good place but fot the students who are from small town or from low income groups this is still difficult to take a huge loan for the studies, so plz try to do something for that too or offer some scholarships for those students so that they can also be a part of wwil:clap:
thanks
