Hi guys!
I have been flirting with the idea about moving to India to learn CG. If I want to go to one of the few CG schools in Norway I have to pay around 20.000$
This is a lot of money. I have heard that India is growing big time when it comes to programing, but I dont know if the CG is a part of the growing. So I got some questions about India and CG

-How much do a nice appartment cost? (A link to site where I can see examples would be nice. I could not find anything in google)
-What kind of edcution do I need to join a school where I will learn CG?
-How much would it cost?
-Does anyone know what the average salary is in India?
-I can only speak English. So is the classes in English?
-Does people go out and get drunk?

Thanks for the help. Have a nice day :)

Dear Ostov Well i think India is not the right place to learn CG. Because here in India CG industry is growing but there is no such good institutes who even give the education upto the level of production. This i can tell you because i am also a student here and i searched every institute who offers good education in CG.

It would be good if you land up in Canada, UK, US because these are the best places to learn CG.

I am completly agree with rebolt...here they only teach the tools.if you want to really learn the production level cg you should go to Canada or US.

Yea! But it cost a lot more and CG is only a hobby for me. I want to visit some of the world and still learn something I like. At the same time I dont want to waste a lot of money on doing nothing so India is cool for me. Anyway. I got small question about different stuff. Could some of you guys add me to your msn so I could ask all kind of question about India?

hey...if u just want to learn tools without getting too much into details...just for hobby sake...and if cost is a major factor, u can join a 1-2 yr course in any institute/college here. prices given above by Mukks. For accommodation, few links are-

ostov i would say u buy some dvd from gnomon,Digital-Tutors and Simply Maya learning 3d in india is hard. there only few institutes but not good at all.
If u want to learn as hobby buy those dvd and go for some holiday for months this would much better.

What would I do here then? I want to something different. I got no plans for my life. I got a chanse to live in another country with a very different culture then I got here. I can do one of the things I love. It also looks like I can take a shower there to. Why would I not do it?

Well ostov we can only suggest you not force you. After all final decision is only your's But still i would like to say if you want to learn CG in India you'll do a big mistake. As far as living is concern India is ok with it. You can come here and are Most welcomed you'll face all kinds of possibilities here and specially what it meant to survive in a place like India comparing to other countries. You'll get a good experience although. But Indian CG industry is growing and is doing quite good but still alot of things need to be done.

You can also opt for Singapore, Hongkong or Newzealand.

Best of luck for your future. :)
