The title of the thread didn't just came up like that, i really want that kind of rigging.even though i am not much of a rigger, i know the basics, but it's not enough it seems for the following situation i have.

I have a quadruped character, which has a biped version also (Same head but different body). now i want to do a animation of the quadruped blending into the biped while walking.Further clarifying, consider a shot when this quadruped character is walking on four legs and stops after a while, stands up with back two legs and continued doing other actions.

how can i go on in terms of rigging these characters? or if there is any other way of achieving the same..

thanx

Hmm...its a tricky situation. Just a rough though, You could try to keep the group of each type of controls in their own spaces. Use sdk's to blend between them and their respective visibilities, sortof like an extended IK/FK switch?. its just out of the top of my head though.:)

What you can do is give ik/fk controls for the limbs and the fk control for the spine as well. While the character is standing up use the fk controls for the forward limbs and do the animation and then use ik/fk control for the action when its a quad. Looking forward for your reply.
