solustation : image mood is good itself.and it isn't too dark.check ur monitor brightness and colors.how could u think so much lights on sunset?and i rig every color of that sky with lights.so i made the rig of light to simulate GI.

i posted in final 3dstills section as i know the rules i posted nothing wrong.

rawskul: i used 3ds max 7 and whole scene is done without any plugin like Dreamscape.i will soon post wireframe view.

Good Stuff buddy...... Just one thing, i personally think the proportion of coconut tree is too small for the scene...it would look awesome if you could scale it a bit... rest its good...thanks

Good work Nodoubt and nuthng worg with my monitor
settings.. i just feel that you do need to light up the mass closer to
the view. Its just the way i see it.. You will always have people
telling you diffrent things about your work even if you think its
perfect and not everytime you can expect people to say "Nice Work". You
don't have to change anything buddy... its just my opinion.
And about the repeat post yea.the same image was posted in the wip section.
hey jigu.....ur image looks nice....nice sky and water....though thats
the only impressive part on that piece.......i'm sure what jimmy meant
by cheating was how work is reduced by using different techniques...its
somethin even pros do.....e.g. apart from thewater material and
lights(unless sky was hand painted)...theres is no actual "work" in
this piece......but the overall image doesnt show that........
as for crits......the boat mesh is very dense......the trees are too
uniform in texture....foreground is a little too
plain(suggestion)..........the water is one thing i really liked.......
dont feel bad or get defensive about crits dude...we're all here to
help each other....if u dont like what someone says and dont wanna
justify....just let it pass.

i like the lantern

hey vivek(i know ppl calling u viverk here) nice to meet u!!!

well u like my both images!!! i m very gald to hear that.if i take jimmy wrong way than sorry.but his speech was told me two way meaning.so.......

for about boat vivek,i have apllied turbosmooth(max 7's) modifier on it.and it has weak point is that when u deselect that object it will show u quad itrations instead of Nurms!!! that's max 7's default error.(but max 7 has such a gr8 mentalray renderer and many new poly features like bridge tool etc etc.)

Nice lights and reflections.

The birds in the distance look very blurred.
If you're using a map there, then its very low res.
Why not make them.........just draw some 'V's and make an opacity map.

As for the trees, they do look quite short.
Either make them larger............or do one thing. Make the boat smaller and, if possible, show a small hut between the trees. (I don't think you'll need to work much on the hut, since most of it would be dark anyway)
That'll make the trees look proper in length.

Also, when you're showing the wireframe of the smoothed mesh, there's an option in 'Meshsmooth' called Isoline display.
If you keep that checked, then it'll show the smoothed low-detail wire.
Don't know if there's a similar option in Turbosmooth.........check it out, anyway

thanks prithvi for ur reply!!! yeah trees rn't possitioned so well with height.well i positioned trees like this from reference photo(which i have.)

well i have used "turbosmooth" modifier for smoothing the boats' poly.it also has option like "isoline display"(as one in "meshsmooth") but it will show u isoline display if u have selected that object if u haven't selected that object and then it will show u very dense object like this boat.

i like to work on trees as u said.but unfortunately i lose all my of HDD.(Damn my HDD it had bad sectors)but i m gonna make like this "sea" with daylight.and also want to show how to do daylight with mental ray.(quiet easy)

hi prithvi,

if u don't still get me about " turbosmooth" modifier i think this boath image can speak much.http://jigu.actkid.com/image/turbo1.jpg

ok, so Turbosmooth looks much like Meshsmooth.
So how is it different?

Sorry to hear about the HDD crash.........that really sucks!

btw, could u explain in detail how u did the lights in this scene?

and that lamp model is gr8.........I think u should post it as a new thread
