Hi Tantriks... Happy New Year to all of you..

My first serious post this year..and i thought its best to start off with the art of Claymation , one of the most innovative mediums of animation that is creating waves in the indian market right now.. Remember four years back.. Small time Logo animations for Music Channels, then came MTV's Poga,Amaron Batteries, Top Ramen noodles, and then the ICICI Chintamani ad etc..

But the recent Pandu Mangal Ad for Aamron batteries again, by O&M, the in charge ad agency for Aamron and Vaibhab - the indian claymation maestro(Channel [V]'s SIMPU and aamron batteries fame) has really put claymotion on top of the charts..

A recent case study article on animation express quotes :

" Here's a brilliant piece of work that deserves a standing ovation. A landmark in Indian Stop Motion Animation. Amaron Batteries latest TVC Pandu Mangal, claymated by Vaibhav Studios, is awe inspiring to say the least.

Expressions that glue viewers' eyeballs to the screen are Vaibhav's hallmark, add to that the detailed miniature, the life like lighting, the adventurous cinematography and a new level of visual complexity and richness in environment thanks to the rich team that worked on the film and one realises that film making is an art which is not limited to live action alone. "

The same article has very interseting stuff about the making of the PANDU MANGAL ad..Do visit http://www.indiantelevision.com/anex/pandu_mangal/main.htm

for the complete article. A must see for all the budding clamation interested artists..

Clay as medium has surely been very helpful to all 3d artists during the character visualisation as well as the character modelling stage. But with ads like those mentioned above hitting the Screens and talented people like Vaibhab and Nandu ( Top Ramen Noodles TVC Fame ) in the market.. I really think clay animation has really very bright prospects.

So, what do you guys think about this medium as a form of potraying one's animation skills and how fruitful do u ppl think it will be to pursue it commercially??

Do share youor comments and views on this.. and also if you have any additional info about the wonderful world of clay animation.

But i would surely say hats off to the Aamron batteries guys..for heralding the advent of such a crude but so ery powerful form of animation into the commercial indian market which was starving after seeing the likes of Chicken Run, Wallace and Gormit etc..

PS :On a lighter note, I sometimes ponder.. what is the stuff inside those batteries..clay..Hmm..maybe

C ya ppl..
<edited><editID>chand3d</editID><editDate>38364.655775463</editDate></edited>
