hi....i've been noticing a lot of institute bashing happenin in here
and other indian groups and all sorts of get togethers...and
frankly...i would be party to it too till some time ago....the ppl
joinin these institutes are ppl with creative dreams and aspirations
like u and me...and we've all faced the brunt of an institute at some
point in our career.....and no amount of bashing is gonna stop these
guys from makin money....some institutes have been around a long time
and will stay for more no matter how long we complain......
this led me to make a move of my own and go and teach in one of
them.....and i was wonderin.....how many others in here are willin to
do the same......willin to spare probably 2 or 3 hours a day to go and
teach wannabe digital artists so that on an overall perspective we
improve the quality of work in our country.....i do agree to factors
where the pay is low and the system works against u...but hey..i
practise what i preach and i do it tomake a difference.....we have the
rest of the day to cater to our own needs.....and since many of us come
from a decent professional background.....an offer to teach at any
institute will be welcomed with open arms.....
so what say??..any takers?

you should ask that question to the franchises not the franchisor, cause the money is spent by franchises who have 1500 ~ 2000 sq ft of real estate and want to do something with that and eventually end up taking a franchise for a training institute - be it NIIT, ARENA OR MAAC - also they have NO knowledge and limited funds, I think the turnaround will happen soon and all institutes/franchises which are in this only for money will vanish and the ones which are serious will stay. Also professional help is expensive so only a limited institutes offer them.

my question wasnt to the franchisee or the franchisor oneguy....i'm
talkin about u and me and all the artists in here.......are u guys
gonna just stand around and complain?...or are u willin to spend a few
hours of the day tryin to teach the students......i knnow pay will be
less...and system might work against u....but i also know that if
i can do it...so can anyone else......i'm not sure how skillful u are
one guy...no offense..if ur a good artist...then this goes out to u
too...but this also goes out to ppl in
here like abhishek...chand...dyna...andy...soul....td
studios..megha. ..inxa.....and all the other good artists in
here..........why dont u guys teach at an institute part time.....just
walk in to any institute..be it
MAAC..arena...edit..workstation...wherever....just walk in..show ur
credentials......and tell them u'd be willin to spend a few hours a
week helpin the students polish their work.....the institute might
fllinch on pay....but hey..consider this social service for the sake of
the industry.......so like i said...."any takers"??

oh my god he took my name.. i dont believe it... dude you need to have a look at my work again.. i know youll say that maybe im better than most of the ppl who teach.. but thats not what i want my identity to be...and seriously man i would spend as much time as i can with ppl who really want to learn animation.. but i just cant stand ppl who get into animation because they didnt find anything else better to do.. maybe somewhere in the near future.. before my doign my masters.. i shall go and teach in some studios.. just for the passion..

theres a big part of me that agrees a lot with what hells angel is saying....and i think that is a great solution for all the crappy education all the newcomers are getting....but there is some truth in was td is also saying....most of these institutes take anyone who can pay the fees regardless of there aptitude or interest...some of them just come there for tp during the summer/ or read an article about our soon to be so called 3 billion dollar industry and come runnin...please don't get me wrong i'm not telling them to start restricting enrollment just becoz someone doesn't have the proper background or anything.....but some kind of interest must be shown and this should also reflect on the candidates performance and attendance.....

hey mojo...i do understand the concern u and td have.......i have come
across many such students myself...the key is....apart from makin what
u do interestin to the student n matter what his background........u
just gottta keep doin it...cos u have to be aware that there are
students in there who do wanna learn..and they might end up payin cos
of others.......its for these who are interested that we go to
teach.....e.g. in a batch of say 20 students....(i'm completely against
one on one teachin cos that usually demotivates the teacher).....if we
keep givin info beyond the course set by the institutes...the students
themselves will come forwards with good queries cos of the faith they
have in the teachers skills..and this way u dont really have to worry
bout the ones who come to do tp........and since we teach a class
rather than an individual.....we can completely ignoe the ones who come
to waste ur time and theirs.....
and to back me up...i'm sure that there are many good artists in here
who had no clue of 3d when they started but are lovin it today...and
those who never thought they could do anythin artistic who now have
diiscovered their inner talents....its for such ppl that we make
the extra effort.

for anyone wantin to know whether i'm all talk......i teach partime at
arena multimedia.....fc road branch...pune....and trust me..i dont do
this for the money....or cos i have time on my hands to kill

i agree with u, hells angel, i was back to bangalore on 7th, & on 8th itself spoke to few institutes in blr, to go in for an hour or 2 hrs either in a day or 4-5hrs overall in the weekend to 2-3 institutes here in blr, & starting that from next week,

am not just goin to teach them softwares or traditional skills alone, am going there to motivate, guide these guys in the right direction, & watz the industry & watz the pipeline, etc.,

soon, will add here bout the feedbaks, or maybe they themselves will register here soon

i am really impressed by both of u hell and dynafx. thats a very good thing u doin....... i promise when i reach ur level of expertise i will do the same.

i agree with hell.i can see his point of view, infact i hav the same point of view. many students may come to learn cg for just "time pass". but they may really get interested in course of time. we must think about these students.
