hi there ..
has any one worked on the new blender3d open source 3d bundle...

http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Features.155.0.html

if this is even half way decent as they say it is...then i think this might be the weapon of deliverence....
imagine..short films galore...public screenings...no fear of soft ware legalities...
yahoooo.......
or am i jumping the gun here???????
wow
the interface looks cool...
and if this thing comes out pretty well then... like u said... no more worries...
its gonna be so cool...
but one thing i was wondering about, is its size,, its only 4.7mb setup
file minus the yafray render engine.. how can it have all these
features in such small size.. or is it like an installer which will
download the setup files from some remote location, online...
has anyone checkd this yet?

it seems the yafray render engine is a raytracer with support for
g.i etc.....
and it seems to have all the editors..as far as animation is concerned...
but cant really say much till you've worked with it.
p.s:hey it free.........
hey there...
it doesnt matter what country they mention..they are just mirror sites which hosts the files...
just click on one of them and the download will automatically begin in
some time...if it doesnt ...right click save targe as the link they
have provided on top.......
by the way not just a modelling tool...
blender also has regular animation tools...and fairly decent renderer...
and whats more a clip editor that will allow u to do actual edits like
in premier(u can do a 2danimatix in a snap) and some basic comp work
too...Jesus!!!!...
think of it ...
model, rig, animate ,light, render and also cut your movie all in one soft ware.....hooo boy

Vishy download it from any mirrors that are available there is no restriction on any mirror.

Just to let you guys know that free software dosent mean 'reduction in quality'.

Check out the features http://blender.org/cms/Features.155.0.html

Currently the internal raytracer is not of very high quality but
efforts are on for an exporter for 'Renderman' complaint renderers. For
the time being Yafray (High quality ) raytracer can give some fablous
results. Wth its Photon assisted GI, causitics support and much more.

hi all... has ne one ever worked in houdini. i had once downloaded the houdinin apprentice edition. i found it so confusing. i have an animation created in houdini n its mind boggling. god knows how they did it.. bt i have read that its one of the most high end effects software and very few have mastered it.... not my cup of tea though.. for me XSI is the best...
