congrats man very nicely dont i really like the texturing part and i really like the fantasy like anatomy very cool, these kind of renders really dont suite any critics from some one like me :) uve done way far than i have ever done yet with characters , but there is some thing i feel that his pents are lookin quite extra thick and heavy comapring to upper part of his body and then a minor thing texture on his hands .
but this is a very cool character .
bestwishes
Usman
Hi, great work man :) Here are some details that might be useful: I think his face looks flat especially his forehead. Also the environment in the background could be more dramatic (maybe there is to much direct light)

hey avinash...nice work......
Sriram, Smooth Criminal:
I wouldnt call this piece heavily inspired or copied.....a lot of warriors and hunters and other aggressive beings have similar armour designs.....u'll have to call pretty much 70% of all ur designs copied then........there is no pure form of creativity where u have a completely 100% unique piece...everything is either inspired by other artworks or by nature.....I have a couple of deisng myself that have striking similarities and so do other ppl........

Avinash: a few crits about ur piece.....
-while the face is nice and crips...the rest of the image looks blurred and there seem to be many areas with heavy photoshopping....
-hair seems very unnatural and cut to style...
-very weak pose..
-too many distributed complexities in the model take the focus off the character....
-very flat lighting
-a lot of grunge on the cloth and shiny new metal seems confusing.
-no sign of tension on either grip.
-and i really dont see the purpose of zbrush in this image......unless ofcourse this was a training exercise

Hope my critics arent too harsh....
nice piece nevertheless....
tc

@hells angel : Agreed, everything that we do is based on what we've seen. But then, this peice has a lot of similarities with the concept art[probably because Avinash used it as a reference for his design ?]....If I'd made something based on someone else's design, the least i would do is mention the name of the concept artist so that others[who are not aware of the concept artist] can find some inspiration too...

This issue doesnt alter my first reply; I still say that this is the BEST work that I've seen on CGTantra....but it would've been nice if Avinash shared his "reference" with us :)

OK.. first of all thnx evry1 for yur lovely comments and suggestions.i was very busy with the games convention in germany so cud not reply soon to som eager questions u guys asked.

Smooth criminal: hi hope u r doin fine and so is satish ..i told evry 1 tht i am goin to do a pdf abt this character and in that i am mentioning the various references i got from Blizzard art and art of warcraft. so i hope tht clears evrything abt not mentioning the credit to blizzard art.

Hellsangel: thnx for liking my work and also for yur observation ,looks like u spent som time studing my character .. ok, i focused more on his facial characteristics then in terms of camera so the rest of the body and bg looks a little blured .. there was no photoshoping used other than to blur edges of the character and background and som contrast tweaks ..hair looks unatural as its my first attempt with hair in max with brazil gi..will definately get better with time..i agree abt the pose its weak..the metal i wanted shiny as its more brushed and less used compared to the clothing as he is more of an silent archer than a warrior on the battle field..and the purpose of zbrush was to generate normal and bump maps and rendering them in max also i used zbrush for texturing so that i get no seams....thnx a lot for yur suggestions and comments and best of luck for yur work ..waitin to see that warrior of yurs get finished.

That was a wonderful job.

But dont ya think that the texture on the bow is kindly flat or the lighting is flat.

Also, i must fully agree with Hells angel about the grip(tension) on the bow and the message roll.

If the bump map value on his pants be reduced, it should fit the bill.

Great work on the whole. Way to go.
