Hey guys,
                  I hope everyone is ready for the next session. This time you have to model a vintage car. Many of us are mad about cars and wish to have atleast one fatakdaa car one day. Till we get that our modeling skills are something that give us the power to create our most desired vehicles. In this session we will model the classic type of cars,  vintage cars, that were built between the start of 1919 and the end of  1930
Here is a little history about automobiles 
The invention of automobiles actually began about 4,000 years ago when the first wheel was used for transportation in India. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Early1500 the Portuguese arrived in China and the interaction of the two cultures led to a variety of new technologies, including the creation of a wheel that turned under its own power. <o:p></o:p>
1600s -  small steam-powered engine models had been developed, <o:p></o:p>
1769 French Army officer Captain Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot built what has been called the first automobile. Cugnot?s three-wheeled, steam-powered vehicle carried four persons. it had a top speed of a little more than 3.2 km/h (2 mph) and had to stop every 20 minutes to build up a fresh head of steam...imagine if we had to use this car in mumbai now<IMG src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0">
1801 successful but very heavy steam automobiles were introduced in England. Laws barred them from public roads and forced their owners to run them like trains on private tracks.<o:p></o:p>
1802 a steam-powered coach designed by British engineer <A href="http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761555037/Richard_Trevithick.html" target="_blank">Richard Trevithick</a> journeyed more than 160 km from Cornwall to London. <o:p></o:p>
1804 American inventor Oliver Evans built a steam-powered vehicle in Chicago, Illinois. <o:p></o:p>
During the early 20th century steam cars were popular in the United States. Most famous was the Stanley Steamer, built by American twin brothers Freelan and Francis Stanley. They were being manufactured untill1932?..and there is lots more.<o:p></o:p>

I would like all of you to write a little about the car you will be modeling. Its not compulsory or something, but its just for you to go an extra step in improving your  knowledge. If you read about something and then build it, you get the extra senses to beautify your model,?. to give it the exact touch according to the period to which it belonged, according to its applications etc.<o:p></o:p>

Also write how much time you took to model .<o:p></o:p>
Do use a lot of references to get the best. [ there are a few image references given below] As this is car modeling and many of you are working people this session will be kept for a duration of two weeks.
After you post your models, you can have another week just to texture and render it. The best model and The best textured model will be selected according to the tantrik voting <o:p></o:p>

The session will close on 24th July...at 12:00 noon... 
 
aamiracle: if you are keen on modelling a 1963 model ... make sure that
its of the classic type, otherwise it would be better to model a car
like the one in the refs that kamalpahuja has posted. We will have a

Hey guys, 
 
one little thing to say....invest your time in making the
exteriors...its not really necessary to model all the interiors...it
will take up a lot of your time....if you can manage it still well and
good....[ for example the seat and the steering wheel will be
enough...but make the car body the best you can]..waiting to look at
all the cool stuff 
 
Next Monday that is the 24th of July is the deadline for the vintage
model...The following week will be for rendering your cars... 
 
And One exciting thing for you guys.....The winners from this session on will be given 'The Tantra Goodies Bag'<img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0"> on the annual meet up...

to work on your model.....don leave it half way...Go on and finish

Ok guys here is my entry... this is wut I came up with 7 hrs of modelling yeasterday... Could not work today... Its a Classic Bugati... It does not have doors or headlights... this is a modelin challenge n the quality of the model is judged up on the clean n appropriate polyflow of the model. 
 
u render looks good but inorder to judge the quality of ur model v need to c the wires of ur model properly...

Shashikala : We need to see your wireframes like 3D devil said...You
can take a print screen of your model with the wireframe...From what i
can see now you have posted only the wires....It is not posible to see
flow from those...all of us are waiting to your wireframe model

Bhumi you are a little late for posting your model dear. The session
was supposed to close on monday but it was extended for 2 days ...Cant
extend it any further...you can post your render for the best looking
car competition.. 
 
All of You can make nice renders of your models and post them till next
sunday...You can post them in the same thread...This  modelling
session closes now. 
the thread will be open for your beautiful cars though <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0">

thanx kamal, i loved all the beauties. watching other models, i still have to work a lot on it, especially on the detailing part, the head lights, rims etc.
congrats to everyone.
waiting for the next session.
car interiors is a good idea. i would like to model a james bond car type of interior, with lots of gadgets and buttons, seats that shoot up on the push of button.
hope the mods accept your suggestion

am working on this vintage car...

i know i hav voilated the rules,as voilating i hav used a rim..
but still working on my model..and will upload some other renders in a day or two..
hope u all like my work..

am just learning..and hav reached upto just texturing..so this is just a simple model..
