<P align=left><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=#000000 size=2><strong>"Legends of the Rings of Fire"</strong>, an animation series on the stories drawn from Asia,produced by the world's best known animation producers, the Walt Disney group features an old Indian tale of "How the Nightingale became the King of Birds".<BR><BR>The nightingale story would be the debut story in the series that will be aired on the new channels to be launched by Disney from December 17.<BR><BR>The story, revolves around how the hornbill, the king of birds is ousted out of power by the sheer wit and intelligence of the old owl and the nightingale.<BR><BR>The animation, set in the format of a narrative, draws from the Indian oral tradition of telling a story.<BR><BR>"The story was selected from numerous stories from Indian treasure trove, as it has well defined characters with values like the owl that stands for wisdom and the sweet singing nightingale. Also it adheres to the Disney principles of a story with fun, entertainment, values, with an optimistic message", Hema Govindan, marketing and communication head, Walt Disney Television International, said here today.<BR><BR>The animation work has been produced locally, she said refusing to reveal the group behind it.<BR><BR>Describing the title "Legends of the Rings of Fire', she said Asia is popularly known as the zone with a lot of volcanic activity and the Rings of Fire captures the idea.<BR><BR>Rajat Jain, Managing Director of Walt Disney Television International, India, said the locally produced programmes had met the quality standard set by Walt Disney.
