cant remember the exact poly count or the number of textures i used for this piece.

i checkd out ur work on that site. I like the texture work, looks good.

no, I work at hitechinfosoft.

what is your company name?

I want to know about parallax mapping, I downloaded soem docs about it. from there I could understand that its self shadowing normal maps.

Actually, I am looking for game outsource project, du have any contacts or info about it?

The normal map for this object was created using the nvdia photoshop plugin. This is really a cheat cause it works of a 2D B/W height map. Although in the ideal world I would model a high poly version of the object in maya/zbrush and generate the normal maps in zbrush. But, most of the time there isnt eanough time in production to accomodate that luxury.

Comming back to your question about the parallax map............

This is really just the grayscale height map that was plugged into the parallax channel of the cgfx shader. Ill try and dig out the map for you this weekend.

Hope this helps.

Cmon, all you guys out there........please post some game art on this forum.

Hi again,

here are the textures I used to create the cobble stones for the fountain.

Colour map

Bump map / parallax map

Normal map

The normal map is generated from the bump map using the nvidia normal map plugin.

any questions, just ask.

hope this helps.

hey there again,

i looked at your stuff.......good work.

Im sure you can find work in the UK, though i feel you need to have more art work in your portfolio apart from just the 4-5 character images. Also, if you only wanna do character modeling for games then you need to be able to use Zbrush for sure. Now days most studios are doing next gen games so uve gotta be able to create high poly models and be really good at texturing, also knowledge of generating normal maps from high poly meshes is a plus.

If you wanna be a 3D artist, i.e do most stuff that comes along then fopr next gen games you need to be able to create high quality high poly environments.......with next gen games the environments is where the major artist requirement is.

If you want, u could igve me your email add and ill mail you some art test docs that you can work on.

cheers

Guys

A lot of game art is under non-disclosure for the clients so it can't be posted.

Check out the showreel of Jivanta, www.jivanta.com

lots of NM stuff in there including the girl, knight and the castle
