I dont know wat u guys might b wondering...is this is a car or a bug with 4 wheels
well,
started out with a spline cage,
detached all necessary segments to b used for NURBS modelling,
i.e. 2 rail sweeping, UV lofting, extrusion etc.
max NURBS is not all that powerful as compared to Rhino ( which i want to get my hands on ) but, one shud try to tackle with the tools provided, even if they r not that advanced...
then u'll be shocked "out of this toolbox, i came up with something

excellent....oooph....i ll be intersted in render tips too whether its brazil, mental ray, vray, final render or scanline render......

i really liked the concept of the car...and the most impressive thing... some ppl might not have noticed it.... i really find it hard to give a good background to my car renders.... this is just an excellent way by keeping some boxes... i ll render all my cars like this....

im grateful u guys like my work...

as for the rendering...it's already mentioned in the title

'Light tracer - Insane Conept vehicle'

this model was rendered using light tracer plugin that is under the advanced lighting tab...pls go thru max user reference in order to view its features n capabilites...

u must first create a skylight (u can find it under the lights panel) increase rays per sample to 64...go to render menu and select advanced lighting, select light tracer ... as mentioned b4 pls refer to max user reference to find more about it, i wud recommend using light tracer for outdoor scenes combined with a sunlight system which cast raytrace shadows giving ur image a bright, dramatic look, this adds to the overall realism...

people can model the best cars, aircrafts characters etc... but if the lighting / mood is bad!...ur model will lose its true appearance even if it is highly detailed...good lighting can bring ur work to life if worked with carefully!...

ironically ... i'm still learning it ... nobody is perfect! ... keep experimenting...it's fun!! im sure any of u can knock people off their socks!

Hi nice model and cool texture u did but I think there are some things which are looking awkward......

1. This edge is looking too awkward. It grabbed whole of my attention.
2. The bumper is going out I think it need to be tweaked and shud be bended inside.
3 & 4. The grips of the tyre are not visible they are looking as if they dont have any grip in it.
5. If it is a wiper than I think its too short and also its not even touching the base of the window.

Rest is ultimate................

and unlike mukks, i really like that non-cliched suroundings.. creates a semi-real ambience... cool!

23-02-2006, 01:42 PM
for non-cliched suroundings, y a base mesh for finished work,,, ?

he
shoud give some texture,,, or atleast a white mat with some glossy
reflections, mainly on floor,,, then only we can say it as a finished
work,,

may be its only for my view,,,

hey nwiz24 ,
im telling this couse, im pushing u to work more on this,, dont stop it
here,,, its still a WIP for me and its comming nice, continue
it,,,,,,,

hey people! thanx a lot 4 ur input!

n a big thank you to CG TANTRA for selecting my work for the gallery.....it means a lot to me...

as for the comments posted earlier, i totally agree with them, this model was created 2 yrs ago...i was / am still in the RnD stage of 3dsmax... its neverending...no matter how much we intend to work on...its never enough!...as i progress, lots of new changes, styles, ideas are applied to make it better...

it is thru trial n error that i can look into my mistakes n rectify them ASAP...

i'm working on an upcoming model...i hope to get this one lookin better than my previous ones...

hi buddy nice work but (dont mind at all) i think that i hav seen it somewhere before also, so is it the original one or u hav taken some reference with???
nwiz24
04-03-2006, 06:01 AM

no reference pic to copy at all, i believe in originality n creativity...

if i did use a reference picture, i certainly would not hesitate mentioning about it...

'credit is given where credit is due'

there were many models i've created all out of blueprints available on the net...

this model was a lot tougher than the others mainly becoz i didnt have a blueprint / reference pic to model from,

its my insane imaginative concept ( which explains the title )...

so yes this is an original model...
