squash & stretch is principle. if u understand the principle rith,
i think, u can rig it properly according to that, though, there r lots
of tutorials for it, if u can tell, wat u need exactly, i guess i can
help u out, bcoz, i myself been a rigger, for more than a year in
production, and , as u know, i can provide the right help for rigging,
maybe atleast some links

<P><FONT size=2>well you have to specific as to what kinda effect you want.. if you are planin to use the squash and the strach deformer then it makes me wonder what kinda character it is that your doing .. you could possibly be even talking about the envelopes... Im really sorry i can;t get what your trying to say. maybe someone else can help you, if not post again with some eg. if possible... Hi
<br />Dynafx
<br />hey its a great news for me. Basically its a very simple cartoony character. I allredy used filan rig (plug-in) for that. I like the its result. but after all its a plug in......
<br />I like to achive the same result in maya only...
<br />Basic requirement is like ....
<br />
<br />if i pull ik handle down it should strech the legs. Or if i pull my root bone upwards it should strech upside also. same for the spine and hand..
<br />I have also went through "set driven key" but this result is very specific.
<br />May this is enouph for you.....
<br />Waiting for your reply.
<br />Thanks

this is a elastic foot tut, i dont think it automates volume change u
can do a blendshape for that it does however give u a stretchy
bones feel. <br>

polygon, hope u got the right path from sujoy.<br>
<br>
i'd like to add few points here.<br>
<br>
Its easy to find animators and modellers. There are hardly any
people who are skilled in rigging. Even rarer are experienced people.<br>
<br>
rigging is some sort of art in case of CG Art. i've seen many who can animate, but they cant rig.<br>
<br>
Rigging is fun because it like building a robot in a way. You're
building something that will move and allow an animator to breathe life
into it.<br>
<br>
you can find lots of tutorials on rigging, rather, i'd suggest,
download few rigged characters like PACKAGEMAN,(excellent rig) study,
these rigs, important things r how they've done & why they've done,
in production(movies), based on the scenes, rig will vary.<br>
<br>
I saw a post on animation, though hez an animator, his rigs were bad,
which is distracting from the animation. actually , if animators
not necesarily need to be gr8 riggers in production, but ,while doin
their own shortfilms, if u understand your character , u'll be knowing,
how the character will behave, so, apart from you, nobody will be
knowing it how to rig,(how u wanted to be). there r no such tutorials,
directly for rigging, like, u do this u do that, bcoz, ur
characterization may change for wat the tutorial specifies.<br>
<br>
Honestly, good character riggers are hard to find. Studios keep em
around because they're handy. Give a try on rigging. or, if
u r intrstd only in animation, i'd suggest, go ahead with good
rigged models which is available for free.<br>

hi<br>
i wonder who dynafx is referring to?..... i hope its not me .....<img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0">,
i agree with dyna fx ...rigging is thankless but very important job,
people like to see cool animations but rarely anyone is curios about
the TD or rigger who made the life of animators easy... hats of to them.<br>

<br>
<br>
<br>
that is the reason, studio will never let off the riggers, to become
successful riggers, they should understand the anatomy, character,
& software.many projects can fail because of the badrigs(so
animators can animate properly). It'll take time for inclining in
career, once established as successful rigger, then you'll be the
hotcake, <br>

<DIV>I've finally finished my off and on labour of love of the last two years along with my first ever website.<BR>Too long have a been in the shadows... ;?)<BR>In the rigging section of my website you can download my skeleton rig. I find it a great rig to work with but also it comes with a resizing script to change the rig proportions to whatever your (bipedal) character may be.<BR>Oh, and feel free to look at the animation and scripts as well.<BR><A href="http://www.brad-noble.com/" target="_blank">http://www.brad-noble.com</A><BR>:?)</DIV>
