Sorry for being an arse once again but, there's 1 thing I'd like to correct.

Please either write "Quake3 Radiant (Quake3 Game Engine)"

-or-

"Doom3 Radiant (Doom3 Game Engine)".

Though there are nearly 80% similiarity in usage, but still it's called differently in the Industry coz they both belong to 2 completely different age of gaming. 1 use lightmapping, and the other is a completely per-pixel system with a next-gen base.

Also speaking about Quake2, it used "QERadiant" which was quite much different. And when you wrote "Quake Radiant", guess the rest. Ppl would assume you know Quake 1 engine. But they'll once again be confused coz you wrote "Doom3 Game Engine". That's the reason you might like to write there something appropriate.

I apologise.

satan: so you caught me hunn...lol...well yes you are right but i think the new Doom3 engine is basically modification of old quake engine which was called GtkRadiant. And one of the big developments in the new engine is that it includes per pixel based lighting which makes Doom3 look kickass.

I worked both on oldage GtkRadiant as well newage Doom3 engine...so mentioned them there...but yeah in a bad way...thanks for reminding me that...i'll change it.

and yeah no apologies mate...its all good worth sharing knowledge

Thing is I like commenting on your work. You might have noticed it that I post least on CGT. But never miss your threads coz it has to have "stuff" in it. And I like commenting on your stuff too. I can comment on your posts coz I feel like it might be of some use. It's your posts that makes me come to check back at CGT. Not that I don't keep my eyes open for any other Low poly stuff posted though. But that's like 1 in a 100.

Well there you are. Now you know why.

Hey dude congrats...

Nice reel u got there. I chked ur site and seeing the 4X4 vehicle in

got there, really nice cars u got there :D

Best of luck and hope u get job where u want to get.

EDIT: And yeah, talking abut jobs there are these ppl who hav developed
an engine far better than Unreal 3 (www.projectoffset.com) They hav
developed this in house engine to make the first fantasy style FPS. Jus
chk their site to see the execellent work they hav done and they also
are accepting talented Modellers, ANimators texture artist etc. Jus chk

hey buddy,

Nice work and amazing showreel dude...........but about this pose buddy needs some weight like the characters COG needs to be in a forward position also try a bit lower camera angle it might look like he is carrying more weight..........Other than that u r rocking buddy............

Cheers,

Hey Harsh

I love to see u work, as its amazing & inspiring
I had been seeing ur work since u were on surfunion
Its nice to c Indians woking hard for perfection.

goodluck

harshdesign
27-09-2005, 03:20 PM

mayawhiz: thanks man but i'm not sure what u mean that pose is offbalance. i think its not a very strong pose but the balance is good as COG is lying in between the body and legs and one leg is leaning forward and another at back to balance the body. And also i didnt wanted a vey dynamic camera shot as i've already made a very dynamic pose of it before. So just wanted to show off the model here in a simpler but attractive way.

Juhi: hmm..surfunion...so since how long have u been stalking me?? hehe just kidding...

thanks a lot for liking my work..as acknowledgement is one of the biggest source for me to do better works. and not just for me, i guess for anyone. Eye for detail, passion and true dedication for your work can take anyone where he/she wants.

Ahamia connection?? ..... hmm ...... maybe you understand bengali too then.

BTW, SurfUnion was a nice place. Butt did a good job on the theme of the site back then. Wonder what's he up with right now.

Abt the new pic:- as usual, I'm tired of saying it. But I think the attenuation area of the light you used for the pyro sparx of the shooting gun is less. I mean it usually lits more area than what you've got there, atleast upto the face. (guess what happens when you play too much shooting games)

Other than that, wonderfull job. It's amazing to see works of somebody like you in these forums.

I know when you say att. is not much...as i tried it and it was washing off the texture...but ur rite.

Also ur making me blush so much that if my cheeks explode you are responsible for it.

ragsbava: questions like these have already been asked many times here or on other famous forums like cgtalk. give it a search and read each and every article.

I would say it doesnt really matter if your are self taught or did some schooling. What matter is quality and passion for your work. Doing a lot or research online or from friends or peers. Watching and collecting best movies you like. Talking to pros a lot. Why not bug andy_maxman for this as he's a good animator and he's free most of the time ("haha just kidding andy ")

Asking reasonable questions on forums like this. and most importantly, working hard and harder, and then again work harder, and then again.

Though i'm not a animator but modeler, these few links might help you...

cool work man...i don't thnk u will have any problem getting what u want in anyplace in this world!!!!!

-the character in the first image seems to be floating and not
falling...it might look like falling in movement but as in still it
looks like his is floating away...

-and u said u used d3 radiant...but it looks like a q3 built..can't understand that...

-the textures on all the models were excellent...nicely detailed
features of the hand and the enviorment at the start reminded me so
much of
"tron"!!!!...

-btw...didn't understood how a gun containing clips filled wid green
goo fire bullets??and the tatoo on the back of the soldier seems to be
taken frm former wrestler brock lesnar....

anywayz...it was all excellent...pretty hard to point out anything in the whole clip...gud job

and All the best fo your future!!!!! hope to hear and see more of u :)
