i am dealing in walkthroughs in maya... i want to make a walkthrough where i can show "growing buildings".
can any one tell me the right procedure in detail, how to animate the buildings seem like growing.

export the model into max n it will be done easily if u wann ago thru dat jst let me know ill guide u for dat.. you can have a look on the animation i've done here is the link...here is the still image and animation...:)

Why would you export model from Maya to Max at the first place? This can be achieved easily in Maya.

ya i feel u can do it in maya...using mayas hypershade and particles...
but it can be a task...
in max its damn easy...
u just need the birth texture plugin from pflow..thats it:)
will try to get you help on maya..

its kinda popular in archvis world. n most of us use 3dmax for archvis projects, may be u can use the same steps in maya,
option 1 - animate slice modifier
option 2 - use Visibility Tracks ( divide the elements n key the visibility at different time frame)
option 3 - animate geometry ,verts etc ... out put will be cool with little post work,, but too much work..
Option 4 - using scripts n plugins like digimation Grow
u can do those above steps in maya too, but instead of visibility track it may be named different.

well mushir_q its very easy in max u jst need to do is animate ur slice from the slice modifier and its done...:)
