Hey Guys, Am a newbie with photography. Just trying to do some experiments with my Bridge camera - Sony DSCH5. Hoping to buy a Canon 450D soon. Most of the pics are clicked in sunlights or in coffee house lights. Looking forward for trying some light setups too sometimes.

no probs. . where did u shoot the monkey and the bird shots ?? looks like u use a semi-pro cam . oops.. just read the description . . enzoi the 400D . . i just recently bot my first cam . a Nikon FG20 . film SLR . lovin it. .

Monkeys are in Kanheri, National Park, Borivali, Mumbai and Bird is in Madh island, Mumbai. Its not even a semi pro..its a bridge cam :(

Dint get the 400D yet, just saving saving to buy it someday. :)

Hi Frenz, Was in Indore a couple of weeks back for an event. Was fortunate enough to sneak out in the Indore streets for a couple of hours and relly enjoyed being ther. Here's some of the memories i could capture -

whoa. . good stuff.
the first one is really cool . . how do u convert to BW ?? i think u should try using the channels. . u get some really awesome results . .

Well i dint convert any of them. They were all shot B/W..

oh, , u loose a lot of info that way.. i try shootin colora and convert later.
coz in the traditional BW they used filters to block a color out to get thouse beautiful tones. . u'll get a great range of contrast . and that the main appeal of BW .

Hey Sanpaiya..thnx for the tip. Your output looks great. how do you go about coverting the images to b/w ?

Vardhan - Just get the camera, play with it, click a lot, keep cheking good works and get a subscription of Beter Photography magazine. This is how ive been doing..

hey abhishek .. that was not my output :) i wished it was. .
i think the last or the one before of better photography was all bot BW . .
i usually go to the channels tab . ctrl click on the channel to get the luminance values and copy from that channel . and paste it as a new layer. . this way i get only the whites and i fill a black bg under it on a sep layer. .
i can duplicate the white layer to add more details..
but there are tons of ways ..
