Hi all,

I am Shelmina here.

Well, i need some help to get a good anti virus.:o

I am at present having Quick Heal anti virus in my PC,

which i found to be ok.

Now its working fine, but initially had created a havoc in my PC, for some weird reason.

Hence I need something better for my PC this time & save it from any further formatting.

So Could any one suggest me a good one.

one which also gives a P2P/file sharing protection

Also,if possible,please do suggest the

demerits coming along with it.

Like with respect to making the PC's performance slow or something.

My PC's configuration is as follows-

Processor is-Intel p4 core 2 Duo 1.8GHz

Mother board - ASUS via chipset

3GB DDR II RAM

Hard disk- 160GB&

256mb DDR Graphic card-Big

The anti virus' renewal date is nearing & i m not intending to go for it

So any Suggestions :(:(

Please do respond.........:( !!!!!...............

Hi ..

Personally i prefer AVG 8.0 Free version. 7.5 was not that good, but this one seems nice. Updates are frequent.

There is not much you can do when you are downloading files from P2P or torrents .. Anti virus can warn you sometimes, but mostly its you who shd not execute the script or the virus.

Also get a firewall .. sygate personal firewall is what i wd recommend.

Hey Shelmina ...
its a matter of fact that the malware programmers work hand in hand with the Antivirus Guys.. so instincts play a good role while accepting files and downloading software.... simple things like... completely refusing to accept small exe files... browsing only trusted sites etc. etc. do work out.

For a completely secure Pc... a good, original, well known avtivirus which does not come for free, is the best solution.
My votes are for Norton... it slows down the pc drastically... but you get more than 2 years of security for a little more than 3 grand, completely worth it.

The Best is NOD32...urs is a good system so u can use secondary antivirus as Ad-aware
and the spyware software to be used is Spybot-S&D

Nothin will enter ur s/m...keep on updatin the virus files

Nod32 is one of the best AV around now. it does not impact the performance and their updates are tiny in size and regular.
One issue i had with nod32 is that while downloading torrents, it freezes the net connection and I cannot browse the net. Thats the only demerit i can think of.
