hey guys...well exams are always the time when i start reworkin my old
pieces just to know how far i've come(and ofcourse..it beats studyin
and can be done fast :P )
heres a rework of a piece i did in 2003...the concept was from a bombay
dyeing ad(or one of those cloth companies....dont rem now)........i
just tweaked the model a bit and completely reworked the textures and
shaders......(although i havent tried any sss shaders...thats for
another exam time...).....did this over a day....hope u guys like
it...:)

hey guys...thanks for the replies.....well..yeah..the eyes needed work......
about the lip shape.......well....i dont have the ref any more...but
when i modelledd it 3 yrs ago the lip was pretty much what u see....it
may look odd...but then again...perfection isnt reality is it!!

anyways...i wasnt happy with that skin and lighting...(btw..that was
rendered in Vray) so i reworked the skin and rendered it with mental
ray...hope u guys love this version cos i'm a lot more satisfied in
this try:)
hmmm. intresting.. its definately better than what it was.. the before one looks like a painting..thou the eyes seems a little too reflective.. and i really dont like the cloth or whatever it is.. it doesnt look like a part of the image.. as in it seems composited over a 3d face.. i hope your understand what im saying..
Nice Work, td.studios is correct, the cloth isn't good

hey crunky.....thanks man...well...i tweaked the eys a bit and updated
that earlier post......well i didnt really work on the cloth....its
pretty much the same as where i left it 2 yrs ago...just changed the
lighting and renderer so looks a tad different....this rework initally
just started out as a skin test...and ended there.....maybe u'll see a
rework again sometime when i decide i wanna learn realistic cloth...one step at a time

thanks juhi....well like i said....cloth does need work......havent done much

hey danny...well i guess i didn answer ur query on another thread
....anyways...like i said....i'm self taught and so are many others in
here......so i guess the best teacher is the internet where u get loads
of references and tutorials...all u need is a lot of patience and loads
of coffee!!!....anyways...all the
best...u always have forums like this one to help u out......and
yeah...ofcourse....as an artist...keep ur eyes open....no better
teacher than real life
thanks prithvi......
well if u mean photo manipulation....well that wasnt done....whole
texture was done in photoshop from scratch.....lotsa layers with
various settings......i could have shown u the workflow if i still had
the split layers...maybe next time.....
and i used mental ray's fast sss skin shader for this with my texture maps.....

thanks abhinab....well this was poly modelled....i'll try and post that
wire up soon.....and my texture specs......just tryin to get my server
back up cos i'm not really comfy ussing image shack....
hope to see u guys soon....cheers
