Hi sir/mam, my name is Annkur frm Delhi. i want 2 specialize in lighting nd texturing as i want 2 go in this line. can u guide me frm where(place nd institute) i can specialize in this field nd what will b da fee structure like. waiti'n 4 ur reply.:)

I can see that you have 72 posts in the forums, what it suggests that you have passion for CG. Why dont you start by your own? Subscribe for a broadband connection. Download tutorials and start learning. However you can go for MAAC, Frameboxx, Picaso Animation and list goes on. Belive me if you think that they will make you lighting artist, forget it. You have to learn yourself. Most of the faculties are Pathetic. What they promise they never deliver as they dont have workforce to deliver the goods. They chage you loads of bucks. However this is my own opinion. You can enquire from other people as well. Wait and see how other tantriks give you feedback.

I Fully agree with pradeep,
i too was left by so called MAAC,when my course was done.
these institutes just know one thing,and thats money...
They jst teach you the basic interface...
its better,you learn on yourself,and save yourself 1.5 or maybe 2 lakh rupees these days,just to learn the interface..
these institutes wont do any good to you..(it all depend on you)
leaving the head faculty,all faculties in institutes,are the persons who are rejected from all small/big studios,and they them self have passed out recently.,
These are the persons then who train!!! How foolish is that:confused: ...
its better you ;earn on your own:)

I agree with Pradeep...at last you have study and know stuff creatively all by own.....least the institute can teach you only tools which can be done by studying the tuts and playing around with tools.....GOOD LUCK BUDDY...:)

I wish, all the Faculties should learn or should develope a module for themselfs and then they can use that to teach the students. They should not use the project files from DT or GNomon, every one has access to them. When these institutes conduct interviews, they just bothered about whether that person knows modelling or not? They hire half ****ed modelers.

One more thing I would like to attact the focus of Tantriks is ..

Should I faculty teach all the stuff

Max, Maya, Fusion, After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop

And it is happening in many many places. It is like Jack of all trades, master of none. Take an example of rigging. Many of them dont know what is smooth and rigid bind. And weight painting, Oh my words, Pathetic.

It is better, learn yourself, learn online.

Use forums when you have doubts.
