Ashwin Chikerur:

"Kudos to CGTantra team for organizing this fantastic annual event at such a grand scale! It's good to see CGT playing a catalyst's role in networking of students, professionals and industry experts. Such events give all budding digital artists a dose of enthusiasm to participate and a platform to put across their works forward & get evaluated by industry experts. It's an honor to be a part of this aspiring & promising CG community in India & CGT has been instrumental in bringing all of them together. Yes it was a very pleasant surprise & a great feeling to have won the award from very talented & potential competitors! I thank CGT & all judges for giving me the opportunity & considering me worthy of this award. Will be back to be a part of CGTExpo 2011! All the Best"!
Someone at least assures to be back for CGTExpo'11, we also asked him about his artwork and he said "In my artworks I have tried to portray the thoughts which keep triggering me & inspiring me at various points of time. It varies from peace, to a bit of rage and sarcasm or sometimes simple awe inspiring mother nature! It's all a percolation of my thoughts & feelings on to the canvas. I also love to experiment with graphics & design apart from moody lighting & large scales that I play with. This all is a process of endless learning & experimenting with art. Like a good traveler who is never intent on arriving! I wish to continue to enjoy the process & learn for all the years ahead"!

Mr. Amit Dang, Senior Manager Academic & Student Dev, Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics:

"It was a scintillating experience to win the award. Frankly, the team was not prepared for it. The credit goes to all the students & mentors and everyone who supported it to happen. They had made it a point to achieve the desired and deliver their best". Their work was backed by good content; he said "Inspired from the real life, this is the story of a boy suffering from a hearing disorder. We portray the hardship faced by him and his family in order to attain a normal life. The difficult times he surpasses to achieve an acceptance into the social domain. We focus on boy's positive attitude towards life despite his limitations and emerge a winner. This concept also presents the boy's efforts to inspire others to fight against the odds".

Mr. Vikram Vr:

"The CGTexpo '10 was a great way to network with people in the industry. The masterclasses and seminars conducted there were top of the line, and they helped me grasp new concepts and technologies. I am glad that this year, I have been able to contribute to the gallery at the Expo. CGTantra awards, is to an artist how filmfare awards are to an actor. It is the one of the few initiatives in the country that helps Identify and award talent in the CGindustry. I personally feel honoured to have won the "best game model" award this year. It has kindled my passion for art further, and I'm sure an artist will be able to make great inroads into the industry with such a laureate."

So far it's been great fun for me to learn and play around with digital media. But then; sitting in office, doing lots of work and then remained unnoticed to the world was little disappointing. As an artist I always wanted to share my work and get some comments and views from other artists. After getting into CGTantra community and sharing work with other artists, I found a new platform, which helped me to grow a lot.

For me seeing my work in nominees for CG Tantra Community Awards was a great achievement and appreciation in itself. But more than that the way whole process of judging was set, was really transparent and encouraging. Till now the digital art was considered as production work or commercial job only. But with CG Tantra's first attempt; now it was elevated to its real value as an art piece. I think this entire activity was not just about award distribution; but it's more of bringing honor to digital art and helping Indian art community to push towards the professionalism with bringing them all together.

I really can't miss talking about the award distribution event. For everything presentation is equally important as preparation, and speaking about CGT Community Awards and CGTexpo2009, it was really grand. I felt extremely honored walking towards the stage and holding the award. I really appreciated the scale and richness of the event.

I thank CGT team for the honor and wish them all the best for future.

First and foremost kudos to CGTantra Team for having such a great competition, which not only pushes every artist but the Cg community as a whole to deliver their best.
The CGTantra Community Awards for the year 2009 was one where I was happy to be amongst really talented people in the industry whose work was top notch.
Being judged by leading people in the Cg community felt pretty cool and I thank them for taking the time out.
To me wining the Character and Demo reel award was a real pleasant surprise and it definitely boosted my enthusiasm to keep at it. For those entering the event this time around, I must say, Guys, if you have put in your best, CgTantra will do the rest ;)

The CGT Expo was really a great experience for me. It was a great opportunity and honor for me to meet and communicate with so many talented artists. CGTantra did a great job in organizing, promoting and running an excellent event. Seminars held at CGTexpo were extremely useful and informative, not only for the visitors but for the exhibitors too.
The CGTantra Community Awards provided a great forum for networking with key figures in the industry business. The contacts developed really helps to share and expand the knowledge - knowledge which otherwise would cost a significant amount of time and money to obtain.
It also provided a great opportunity to celebrate the success of the nominated teams with a fun evening.
My advice to those who are looking towards participating this year would be to use the opportunity to reflect on your success. Winning awards is a great way to validate your team's efforts and encourage them to reach greater heights.

CGT Expo 2009 was an amazing experience. I got to meet some really cool artists I always wanted to. The floor had some very interesting booths and works going around. I totally enjoyed the Master Classes by Siju Thomas and the one by Dreamworks Paprikas. The master classes are a big help to Artists like us who have been around a while and also will give beginners a very good insight on the topics that are shared during the Master Classes. CgTantra has indeed outdone itself by providing the artists and the young aspirants a very good platform with the CGTexpo, the contests that are conducted during the Year over at cgtantra only boosts the spirits and competitiveness among the artist and always make us strive for the better. Anyone willing to understand the Animation/ gaming/ movie industry should definitely go for the CGT expo and it gives the best exposure for the same around the country.
